Costa Rica's known the world over for its world-class sport fishing. Why not try our luck at reeling in the big one? We'll get an early start on a off-shore boat for our 1/2 day fishing trip! As we relax and breathe in the cool crisp ocean breezes, we'll bask in the warm sun admiring the sea's majesty stretching out miles and miles of pure beauty. What a day! We'll be out in the sun with high hopes of catching a marlin or sailfish for catch and release and a lifetime of bragging rights.

We'll have a picnic while we explore the Arenal Volcano Park, hiking through canopy forests and exploring old lava flows.

La Catarata de la Fortuna (the Waterfall of Fortune) is a known for its spectacular view of 70 meters of clear water pouring through a sheer canyon of dark volcanic rock. We'll have a truly beautiful experience in this park.

After our hard hike, we deserve a massage at the Tabacon Hot Springs Resort at the base of the volcano.

We'll let an experienced guide take us on a hike through Manuel Antonio National Park so we don't get lost! Visiting two pristine, sun-kissed white-sand beaches, Espadilla Sur and Manuel Antonio learning about local plant life, pointing out some of the subsiding fauna such as capuchin, squirrel monkeys, agouti and the three-toed sloth along with 184 species of birds. A honeymoon adventure we will always remember!

As we descend from the volcano to the Tabacon Hot Springs to soak in the warm water and watch the sunset, we could be treated to a spectacular vision of fire and sparks from the volcano! We'll get to watch glowing rocks of lava tumbling down the side of the mountain, while soaking in the warmed mineral waters of Tabacon Resort!

With your wedding gift, we will indulge in the crisp night air and take a walk to The Dendrobates Reserve where we will get to witness different types of frogs from tree frogs to bullfrogs, along with a variety of colorful species such as poison dart frogs, snakes, night birds, mammals and insects. We will enjoy this nocturnal activity through a rainforest so precious!

We can't wait to experience boasting and beautiful museums, and learn about the historical and rich Costa Rican culture of San Jose. Driving through Sabana Park, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater, visit unique museums, the University of Costa Rica, and the Supreme Court along with a brief stop in Moravia allowing us to browse the boutiques and pick up some souvenirs from our Costa Rican honeymoon!

We'll plunge into the warm waters to see the abundant marine life such as moray eels, starfish, and huge schools of fish. But we could also see turtles, manta rays, and sharks, oh my!

Exploring the Monteverde Cloud Forest, seeing our tropical surroundings from a bird's eye view as we swing from platform to platform in a safe and easy manner among the treetops. We will hike trails across deep canyons and get the scoop on the local flora and fauna. A lovely wedding gift, for us lovely honeymooners!

We will appreciate refreshing ocean waters while learning the ancient skill and art of surfing. Our experienced Instructors are excellent teachers and are committed to perpetuating the heritage of surfing. Surfs up!

Costa Rica is world renowned for its exuberance of its biodiversity, such as its coffee. That's why two of Costa Rica's most popular destinations are The Butterfly Farm and The Coffee Tour of Cafe Britt. We will get to visit Alajuela where an enclosed tropical garden is filled with hundreds of butterflies, learning their natural history. Our journey continues onto Cafe Britt in Heredia where we will take the Coffee Tour, learning about the history of the coffee bean. We will even get a sample and the opportunity to purchase the strong stuff at factory price!

Every night from November to February, the most spectacular natural event happens. On this adventure, we will find us truly amazed as we witness the nesting ritual of the leatherback sea turtle. As they drag themselves onto the beach, they lay their eggs at the same nesting site they have used for countless generations before. Maybe we will even get to see a hatchling make his way out to the big and blue!

This white water rafting tour includes breakfast, a bilingual guide, lunch, and a breathtaking ride along the scenic Pacaure River taking us past rainforest, wildlife, and waterfalls. Help send us on the ride of our life!

A bilingual guide will pick us up in San Jose and take us to the Pacuare lodge where we'll be welcomed with a cocktail and prepped for our whitewater rafting adventure. We'll spend the night in mountain lodge inside a tropical forest. We'll have a rope bridge to our own private lodge in the trees with windows that gaze out at majestic trees and verdant rainforest. This night will truly be spent in private luxury before we continue on our adventure.

With a spectacular view of the ocean, we will join the locals and feast on comida tipica (native dishes), fresh fish, and succulent steaks complemented by gallo pinto, the national dish of fried rice and black beans.

Natives in Costa Rica dine at sodas - small cafes with their own unique flavor. We'll enjoy some native dishes, new tastes and experiences, and maybe even find some new favorites!

What's a vacation without a celebratory beer? We'll raise a glass to you as we kick back on the beach with a beer and soak in the warm sun.

There's only a few ways to get from Arenal to the world famous Monteverde Cloud Forest. We'll take a Jeep and Boat trips to see more of the forest first-hand!

We want to spend as much of our honeymoon exploring the island as possible!! We'll be exploring up to the very last minute, so we're flying from Corcovado back to San Jose on the day we head home. With a seven hour flight ahead of us, we'd much rather take an hour flight than a four hour bus ride!

We'll be traveling a lot like the locals - on buses! But to save time, we're flying from San Jose to Quepos so we can continue our adventure on the other sections of the island.
