This is the tour to take to find out how and where Montrealers' live. You will get to know the hipster-central and artistically-dense neighbourhoods of the Plateau Mont-Royal, Mile End, Little Italy, and Outremont as intimately as the skinny- jeaned-indie-kids that populate it – but it will only take you four hours, rather than the four years it took them. We will zig and zag and then some (don't even try to map it, you will only get more confused) through the narrow streets, back 'green alleyways', cafe-lined boulevards, and never ending parks (does anyone work in this city?) to make sure you don't miss a beat. We'll share our favourite and secret places to eat, drink, shop and hang. You will enjoy well timed breaks in Parc LaFontaine, the Cyclists Cafe and Shop, hot Montreal bagels, and lunch & a cold drink at the massive outdoor Jean-Talon Market with every local product you could imagine (we recommend the Hard Cider). For the epicureans of the group, the rack on the back of your bike is surely going to come in handy. Though this tour is a little less focused upon the history of Montreal, you will still learn about how the different communities and characters of the area have shaped its history and culture. A real day in the life of a Montrealer.
