Send Tara and Dave on a cycling tour from Mount Batur downhill through villages and rice paddies, with stops at coffee plantations and Balinese Hindu temples.

Dave and Tara will be spending three nights at a locally owned boutique hotel in the central part of Ubud, the cultural center of Bali. There, they will explore traditional Balinese Hindu ceremonies and dances, peruse the art, and explore temples, rice paddies, and monkey forests. This gift pays for one night accommodation in Ubud.

This gift will pay for our after-adventure drinks, which usually are either a local palm wine cocktail, or Bintang beer.

While in Amed, Tara and Dave would like to hire a glass-bottom boat and a guide to take them on a unique snorkeling adventure.

Gunung Agung is the holiest and highest mountain in Bali. It is a serious hike and requires a local guide. The most spectacular views are at sunrise, so the hike begins at 3 am. This gift pays for the guide and transportation.

Kecak is a form of Balinese music drama. Also known as the Ramayana Monkey Chant, the piece, performed by a circle of 150 or more performers wearing checked cloth around their waists, percussively chanting "cak" and throwing up their arms, depicts a battle from the Ramayana where the monkey-like Vanara helped Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana. However, Kecak has roots in sanghyang, a trance-inducing exorcism dance. The performance of the Kecak is a must-see when in Ubud, the cultural center of Bali.

The food in Indonesia is incredible, and the seafood cooked Balinese-style is to die for. This gift treats us to a special dinner, most likely on a beach.

While in Ubud, the artistic and cultural center of Bali, Dave and Tara would like to purchase a couple pieces of locally made hand-carved art for their home and have them shipped home. This gift pays for both the piece as well as the shipping costs.

While staying in quiet Amed, a series of small villages on the eastern tip of Bali, Dave and Tara would love to rent motorbikes to be able to explore the various coves, bays, and villages that dot the shoreline. This gift enables them to each rent a motorbike for one day.

This gift will help pay for Dave and Tara's airfare to Sumatra from Bali so they can spend time in the magical Lake Toba region at Tara's cousin's estate.

Transportation in Indonesia is known for it's unpredictability and overall chaos. In order for Dave and Tara to get off the tourist path and have some adventures, they will need to hire a driver. The cost is about $60 per day for a personal driver and car. This gift will enable them to spend a day exploring hard-to-access temples, villages, and hot springs.
