Your adventure begins with a short walk to the boat dock where you'll board an expedition craft to cruise across Gastineau Channel to the Treadwell Mine site on Douglas Island. An off-road vehicle will then take you up the densely forested hillside to the beginning of nearly a mile of dual high-tension cables linking a network of platforms mounted high in Sitka spruce trees. As you zip through the forest canopy, you'll cross aerial suspension bridges offering breathtaking views of Bullion Creek and unique vistas of Juneau

After a thrilling 30-minute flight (roundtrip), we'll land at a dog camp on Denver Glacier that is home to nearly 300 Huskies and puppies. You'll meet these incredible dogs as well as the mushers who will introduce you to "mushing," the art of dog sledding. Drive the team or ride in the sled while observing the breathtaking environment

You'll see historic Haines and Fort William H. Seward on this narrated drive, and moose and swans in the marshlands. Experienced guides await to begin your rafting adventure (not whitewater). You'll float silently down the river aboard 18' inflatable rafts - the best way to observe eagles drawn to feed on the plentiful salmon. Bears and wolves are also frequent guests at the feast. Not only rich in wildlife, the preserve is also a place of incredible beauty, with towering mountains, hanging glaciers and lush forests

View the Mendenhall Glacier, formed during the Little Ice Age, which began about 3,000 years ago. Sustained by the geography and unique climate of the area, the glacier has been able to survive much longer than others in North America. Then, drive to Auke Bay for an unforgettable awardwinning wildlife cruise available rain or shine. Board a catamaran and relax in the main cabin, offering panoramic views. An onboard naturalist will explain the habits and habitats of the wildlife you may encounter. No whale-watching tour would be complete without seeing the humpback and killer whales which are plentiful in the nutrient-rich waters during this time, and sightings are guaranteed!

Explore the Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary, a private reserve at scenic Herring Cove. A guided walking tour leads through tall stands of cedar, spruce and hemlock to a wetland estuary. Watch for bears and seals that feed on spawning salmon, in season. On-site experiences include interacting with Alaska reindeer, seeing bald eagles up close, touring the historic Herring Bay Lumber Company saw mill, and seeing a Native totem-pole carver at work. At the rustic home of World Champion sprint musher, Kathleen Holden and Top 20 Iditarod musher Gerald Sousa, you will be introduced to one of these teams. Tours begin in downtown Talkeetna, with a short narrated bus trip, describing the history of Talkeetna and sled dog racing. You will visit an authentic Alaska log cabin, meet the dogs, see a demonstration of sled harnessing and mushing preparation. Learn about the winter training program to get these dogs ready for the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, held annually in March. You will go for a sled dog ride on local trails through some beautiful and peaceful scenery. You will also get a chance to hold and play with our future champions, the puppies

After a brief demonstration, you'll pan for gold, with "pay dirt" guaranteed.

Buckle up for a breathtaking, birds-eye view of Denali National Park, a spectacular 6-million acre preserve dotted with one million acres of glaciers. You'll examine the fascinating geological features of the Polychrome Mountains and turquoise lakes left by receding glaciers, and Yanert Glacier, located in the central Alaska Range. Weather permitting, you'll climb over the clouds to Mt. McKinley, North America's highest mountain, towering over 20,300 feet tall.
