Soar by tramway to 1,800 feet above Juneau to take in one of the most expansive and beautiful views in Alaska, from the Chilkat Mountains to the north, down Stephens Passage, over to Douglas Island, and into Silver Bow Basin where gold was discovered in 1880. Once at the top of Mt Roberts, you will find that the Nature Center is the starting point of an extensive trail system including bear-viewing platforms and a live bald eagle exhibit. The Mountain House has a theater, restaurant, bar, several select gift shops and Native artists working on fossilized ivory or silver carvings, making dolls, sewing garments, beading or creating large totem poles out of cedar logs.
