Kakslauttanen is an ideal location for cross-country skiing. The entire Saariselkä area has a combined trail distance of about 180kms, out of which 40kms are illuminated and there are trails of varying difficulty levels from slow-paced suitable for the whole family to competition trails, where you can brush up your technique.

Ice and snow curving is an exciting way to find an artist within you. Guided by our English-speaking instructor everybody will be able to make very beautiful sculptures. The duration of a session is approximately two hours and the session includes guided instructions and a tour of Igloo Village (with a complimentary hot drink). It is a lot of fun for the whole family or a group!

We'll have a drink or two on you at the local bar or at our favorite saloon. Cheers!

Reindeer safari is a relaxing experience, in which you peacefully glide through the magical winter forest pulled by your very own reindeer. We pick you up from the hotel by car and drive to the reindeer farm, where all necessary equipment will be provided. This safari requires no skills and the reindeer will do all the work for you as you comfortably relax in your own sleigh.

Our snowmobile safari takes place in the ski village of Saariselkä situated some 10 kms away. Safari begins with a private transfer by car from the hotel to the safari office, where you will receive full equipment including thermal suit, boots, socks, gloves, balaclava and helmet, followed by an all-important lesson on driving a snowmobile and safety information. Safari trail begins with a drive up to the beautiful Kaunispää fell, 436m above sea level, opening up the most stunning views over the surrounding area.

Glass igloo provides an one of a kind opportunity to admire the northern lights and millions of stars of the crystal clear sky in a comfortable room temperature. Built from a special thermal glass the temperature inside the igloo always stays a normal level. It also prevents the glass from not getting white frosted, hence keeping the view clear even when the temperature outside drops to under -30°C. Every igloo is equipped with a toilet and luxury beds.

Each cabin is equipped with a fireplace, shower/toilet, kitchenette, own sauna and some cabins have a traditional Finnish rocking chair. The cabins are located sufficiently far apart so that each one has its own peaceful garden area. We will be staying for 5 nights.

What could be better than knowing we'll have breakfast to enjoy between the sheets? We'll order eggs florentine, cinnamon rolls, freshly squeezed orange juice and hot coffee which all seem to taste better served to us in bed!

It's casual, fun and perfect for an afternoon lunch. With so many restaurants in town, we'll choose the most perfect, casual restaurant where we'll take delight in the juiciest burgers, fresh sandwiches, chicken and fries!

We look forward to reserving an intimate candlelit dinner. We'll choose a quiet restaurant with a warm atmosphere, outstanding cuisine and impeccable service.

At our favorite Steak House, we'll reserve a table so we can tantalize our tastebuds! We'll choose from an array of prime aged steaks, chops, bone-In New York, filet mignon, double pork chops and racks of lamb. All choices are grilled the classic way juicy, tender, with the flavors developed fully. This is a sanctuary for us steak aficionados. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.

It won't be like driving at home. Exploring on our honeymoon will be an adventure.

Any help to get to and from our destination is a wonderful gift. We will be thanking you long after take off.

We'll need a spa day just to ourselves! We will sit back, relax and indulge in a rejuvenating and revitalizing spa treatment or massage to help soothe our tense muscles and to help us get back in the groove.
