William Randolph Hearst told architect Julia Morgan in 1927 that he wanted to built "a little something" on the California coast. Eighteen years later, Casa Grande (commonly called Hearst Castle) crowned La Cuesta Encantada, Hearst's "Enchanted Hill" above tiny San Simeon. It's a 165-room Moorish castle with 127 acres of gardens, terraces, pools and walkways, furnished with Spanish and Italian antiques and art, flanked by three large guest houses. In its heyday, Hearst Castle had a zoo, tennis courts and two magnificent swimming pools. After Hearst died, family fortunes declined, and they gave Hearst Castle to the state. Today the state Park Service preserves Hearst Castle as a State Historical Monument, and we can all enjoy a glimpse into the Hearst's opulent lifestyle.

What could be better than knowing we'll have breakfast to enjoy between the sheets? We'll order eggs florentine, cinnamon rolls, freshly squeezed orange juice and hot coffee which all seem to taste better served to us in bed!

We will have to choose from all the local Italian restaurants in town to reserve the perfect table in the most romantic setting. We will tantalize our taste buds with homemade pasta, Panini, fresh Seafood, select an Italian vino and enjoy the best dessert ever, ending with a cup of cappuccino. Now that's amore!

We’ll love a night just to ourselves! Indulging in the romantic ambiance, we’ll enjoy tantalizing cuisine at our favorite restaurant and make a toast to our lives together!

We look forward to reserving an intimate candlelit dinner. We'll choose a quiet restaurant with a warm atmosphere, outstanding cuisine and impeccable service.

At our favorite Steak House, we'll reserve a table so we can tantalize our tastebuds! We'll choose from an array of prime aged steaks, chops, bone-In New York, filet mignon, double pork chops and racks of lamb. All choices are grilled the classic way juicy, tender, with the flavors developed fully. This is a sanctuary for us steak aficionados. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.

With so many ice cream parlors in town, we'll try everything from hot fudge sundaes to soft serve ice cream and thick milkshakes. Who cares about the diet on our fantastic getaway!
