A Taste of Mexico

We’ll spice up our honeymoon and learn the secrets of cooking authentic Mexican cuisine! We’ll stroll around Ensenada and discover all the charming spots of this little town on the way to the local restaurant, where we’ll sample the authentic Mexican cuisine prepared by our Chef, before our cooking lesson. After our delicious lunch we’ll have time to shop around the local stores for some honeymoon souvenirs!

On this magnificent shore excursion, we’ll experience Ensenada’s amazing panoramic views of the Salsipueded Bay, Todos Santos Islands and the Gold Coast! We’ll saddle up and ride through winding trails into the beautiful hills of San Miguel Mountains and enjoy the surrounding scenery with its beautiful flora and fauna. After we arrive at Rancho Los Bandidos, we’ll relax and enjoy a traditional snack of fresh local fruit and an ice cold beverage to quench our thirst!

Discover Hilo, Waves & Waterfalls

We’ll be able to enjoy the picturesque drive along the “Old Road” where lush rainforests and waterfalls will greet our eyes. We’ll be able to see the extraordinary Akaka Falls, a 410 foot waterfall which propels over the jagged cliffs of the dormant Mauna Kea Volcano. Next, we’ll go to the Tsunami Museum to learn about the power of the Tsunami, which includes footage of the Tsunami of 1946 that demolished a great deal of Hilo. Then we’ll travel to the awe-inspiring Shinmachi Memorial which was made in honor of the victims of the Tsunami. Afterwards, we’ll satisfy our sweet tooth with a short stop at Big Island Candies to purchase some treats that we can enjoy together.

We’ll be “nuts” over each other when we stop by to visit a macadamia nut factory and witness the processing of one of Hawaii's best known exports. Also we have the chance to take a drive through Hilo Town’s Banyan Drive which is accent by the formal Japanese style gardens of Liliuokalani Park. Then we get to discover a magical moment with the leaping rainbows cascading into a circular pool at Rainbow Falls. We’ll be captivated by the early history of Hilo while visiting the Lyman Museum and Mission House. We also will be able to enjoy some soft and gentle moments in the Nani Mau Gardens.

Our guided kayaking adventure starts from the renowned Keauhou Bay, which is the birthplace of King Kamehameha. Our first stop will be Kuamoo Bay, then on to some outstanding sea caves and huge lava tubes. If we are lucky, we might even see a dolphin or a green sea turtle. We can’t wait to have the chance to snorkel and observe some of Hawaii’s magnificent marine life up-close!

On this excursion in Honolulu, we’ll have the chance to visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial. We’ll board the Navy Shuttle Boat for a reflective voyage across the harbor to visit the final resting place of those who tragically lost their lives on the USS Arizona. After we pay our respects to our past, we’ll take a scenic drive through Honolulu’s Chinatown and Punchbowl- National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. We’ll even get to catch a glimpse of the Iolani Palace, home to Hawaii’s last King David Kalakaua. Last but not least, we’ll travel past the King Kamehameha statue and Kawaiahao Church – one of the first Christian churches in the islands.

We’ll pass by many of the well-known orchid and anthodium farms from Hilo on our way to Crater Rim Drive as our guide explains the mysteries of the famed Madame Pele, the Hawaiian Goddess of Fire. Next, we’ll travel to the Thurston Lava Tube and then head out to the Hawaii Volcano Observatory and the Jagger Museum. We can’t wait to meander through the remarkable exhibits of the destruction caused over the years by volcanoes. We’ll have time to browse through the many remnants that erupting volcanoes have left in their path. After our stroll through the museum, we’ll sure work up an appetite and have a chance to nibble on free samples at the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory Store while we observe how the nuts are processed.

We’ll be able to witness the serenity and majesty of the astonishing 2,857-foot deep Waimea Canyon. We’ll drive by the Russian Fort, known as Fort Elizabeth which was built in 1817. Afterwards, we’ll have the chance to catch a glimpse of the Hanapepe Valley and travel through the native island roads of Koloa, where the first sugar cane plantation existed. Also we’ll visit the Waimea Town, the landing of Captain James Cook on our Kauai honeymoon!
