During our four day backpacking adventure, we will travel 20+ miles through archeological ruins and the peruvian jungle. Your gift will go toward our camping equipment and porters (to carry our gear). Thank-goodness for porters! At the end of our backpacking tour we will arrive at Machu Picchu.

Our mountain biking adventure begins with an early morning drive from the Sacred Valley Hotel to Cruz Pata where we will embark on a fascinating mountain bicycle tour to the community of Chequereq, Cruz Pata, the Ruins of Moray, Maras town (Indian Reduction), and the Salt Mines of Pichingoto.

The first rafting segment travels through some exciting class III/IV rapids, before coming to a mandatory portage. With the crew's help, we will slide the raft over rocks to put safely back on the river downstream. For the rest of the day we will enjoy thrilling rapids, a riverside beach lunch and views of the deep gorge and flowing river. In the late afternoon we reach our destination, a soft sand beach for a night of camping alongside the river.  On the second day, we will do it all over again and raft down more challenging rapids, including "Toothache," "You First," "Babalua Carajo," and "Last Laugh," all of grade V difficulty.

Your gift goes toward the purchase of our hotel rooms for our entire trip. We will be staying in everything from campgrounds and quaint town motels to jungle lodges.

What could be better than knowing we'll have breakfast to enjoy between the sheets? We'll order egg omelets, cinnamon rolls, freshly squeezed orange juice and hot coffee which all seem to taste better served to us in bed!

We will start our day with a guided walking tour of Cusco's markets, the colonial cathedral, and Koricancha, the impressive Temple of the Sun. After lunching on tasty local cuisine, we will depart for an afternoon tour of Cusco's temples and visit several prominent Inca sights, including: the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, with its megalithic stone terraces; Kenko, with its carved stone surfaces and subterranean altars; the small fortress of Puka Pukara that protected the royal capital from attacks; and the water temple, Tambo Machay.

With your thoughtful wedding gift, we’ll browse around the Peruvian Indian Market while honeymooning in Lima, Peru and pick up some local handicrafts and traditional souvenirs to take home with us!

Your gift will get us where we need to go once we land in Cusco by road and rail!

Any help to get to and from our destination is a wonderful gift. We will be thanking you long after take off.  In addition to getting us to Peru, we will be using airfare gifts toward our plane transfer from Lima to Cusco.
