Wander among a multitude of butterflies through this 12,000 square foot garden resplendent with lush foliage and water ways. Capture the beauty of the surroundings, and the thirty different species of your delicate new friends.

At Glacier Gardens you'll be amazed at the diversity of the rainforest. Stroll along paths carved from the mountain side toward the upper regions of the forest. At Macauly Hatchery see Alaska's largest salmon ladder. Guests will also visit Juneau's biggest attraction, Mendenhall Glacier. This river of compressed blue ice is fed by the massive Juneau ice field and ranks as the largest glacier accessible by road in southeast Alaska.

This delightful tour gives your the rare opportunity to commune with nature in a breathtaking setting of the Ketchikan rainforest. A scenic coastal drive takes you to rustic Herring Cove, overlooking Eagle Creek, where the salmon run attracts eagles, bears, seals, and shore birds. Guests will also get the chance to meet and feed an Alaskan reindeer. Then visit fascinating Herring Bay Lumber Company sawmill and watch a master carver working on totem poles.

Fully restored cars, pulled by vintage diesel locomotives, travel over twenty miles of steep grades and around cliff hanging turns. Retrace the original route to the White Pass Summit. Take in the breath taking panorama of the mountains, glaciers, gorges, waterfalls, tunnels, trestles, and historic sites from large picture windows and hear fascinating tales of Gold Rush history, recounted by a colorful passenger agent who serves as your guide.
