Dear Friends and Family of Jessica: As you may or may not know (due to the fact that our beloved Jess is "private" as she would put it - I would go so far as to say secretive) Jessica successfully defended her dissertation on September 30, and is now Dr. Harris. In a patriarchal society that encourages little girls to dream of their wedding day for an entire lifetime, Jessica has accomplished something that most of us would never dare dream. She has conducted original research, published it and defended her research in front of a committee of academics. Jessica has committed her career and her life to the academic process in the name of social justice. In honor of Jessica's lifetime committment and to her saying "I Do" to her life as a Doctor, please consider contributing to her honeymoon fund. With your help, Jessica and her dissertation can take their honeymoon to the location of their choice to rest, relax, and celebrate the 3 years of incredibly hard work that it took to become a doctor.
