Thessaloniki is Greece's second biggest city and we're only a 30 minute drive away. We want to relax a lot during this trip, but we also want to have some fun in the big city! From cool, cutting-edge hangouts to homely, relaxed venues; the city caters to all tastes. One place we definitely want to visit is the Thermaikos Cafe-Bar.

We want to discover the lesser-known gems and hidden markets of Thessaloniki on a 3-hour walking tour! We'll take a leisurely stroll around town, scout out vibrant markets selling almost everything from food and spices to flowers and bric-a-brac while learning about Thessaloniki’s intriguing history. We'll sample street food and meet local craftspeople at the Coppersmith’s Arcade near the beautiful Panagia Chalkeon church

During the cruise we stop on a beautiful beach to relax and swim; we will continue then with lunch on the boat (light meal). Our next stop will be in a tourist village from Sithonia or Kassandra peninsula, where you will have enough time for coffee or shopping. And finally, our last stop will be at Kelifos Island, the perfect place for swimming and snorkelling, where you can jump into the water straight from the boat. This island is not inhabited and its shape is similar with a turtle. That’s why the island is called by the locals “The Turtle Island”. The cruise offers you unique moments and relaxation, often accompanied by seagulls and dolphins and listening to the charming Greek music (bouzouki).

We would love to view and admire the untouched nature and the unique architecture of Mount Athos monasteries. Mount Athos raises fascinatingly up to 2033 metres above sea-level, covered with virgin forests of an enchanting natural beauty. This incredible peninsula has universally been the only territory dedicated to the worship of God and the Holy Virgin Mary, “Panaghia”, for over a millenium now and is solely inhabited by monks. In the year 885 A.D., the byzantine emperor Basil the First proclaimed it as exclusive property of the local monks and hermits. The first organised monastery got founded in 963 A.D. A century later, it was ordered that no woman could violate its holiness. This forbidance continues and no woman is allowed to set a foot on the Holy Mount.

From the excellent service at the hotel to the attentive waiters at dinner, there's going to be a long list of people to thank for helping us have the perfect time away from home.

We'll need a spa day just to ourselves! We will sit back, relax and indulge in a rejuvenating and revitalizing spa treatment or massage at Ikos Spa. At the Ikos Spa we may even jump in the indoor/outdoor swimming pool with floor to ceiling windows, giving sweeping views over the gardens.

Who doesn't love food?! We do! We plan to take this 3.5-hour food tour of Thessaloniki, exploring colorful markets, seeing fresh seafood, sampling Greek meze and more! We'll visit the vibrant food markets of Modiano and Kapani to sample local bread, and then relax in a traditional Greek tavern to feast on a meze platter (selection of dishes) washed down with ouzo or ‘tsipouro’ – two much-loved Greek liquors. Further samples include a melt-in-the-mouth syrupy sweet at one of the city’s old candy shops.
