One of the most exciting tourist attractions near the city is Tulum, the third most-visited archaeological site in Mexico. It features the ruins of a Maya walled city that sit atop breathtaking cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Tulum is one of the best preserved Maya coastal sites, likely because it was one of the last cities they built. You won’t want to miss the chance to explore its history and take in its spectacular views. If you have plenty of time to explore everything the Yucatán has to offer, then make sure to visit Chichen Itza, which is an even more popular tourist destination than Tulum. It was one of the largest cities ever built by the Maya, and features a diverse variety of architectural styles. The archaeological site includes fascinating structures like temples, step pyramids, and ballcourts that will inspire you as you imagine life in Mexico centuries ago.

Everybody is given the opportunity to navigate their own ATV over wild and rugged terrain through the jungle of the Riviera Maya. After the huge adrenaline rush, you’ll cool off with a swim in one of the many cenotes in the area, freshwater sinkholes.
