Begin with an introduction and orientation in the comfort of our Theatre Planetarium using a Digital Sky presentation highlighting unique features in our southern sky. Our informative astronomy guides then take you on a short drive (transport provided) to our outdoor stargazing site. Use telescopes, astronomy binoculars and the naked eye to put your newly acquired knowledge into practice, identifying and exploring different elements of the spectacular southern sky.

We will learn the secrets behind authentic Balinese and Thai cuisine with a cooking class! We will visit the local market with our guide who will explain the traditional ingredients, the cooking methods and the role that food plays in daily rituals. Next, Balinese and Thai chefs will take us through the process of creating their favorite dishes, with a number of hot plates set up in the open kitchen so we can take an interactive part in the cooking, and enjoy the results!

Swimming with the dusky dolphins which are regarded as the most acrobatic of all dolphin species is a "must do" experience while in Kaikoura. Pods of dusky dolphins ranging in size from 100 to 1000 are typically found all year round.
