No honeymoon in Scotland would be complete without a sing along and a couple of pints at the pub with the locals. Cheers!

On day two we will take an excursion to Melrose, Rosslyn Abbey and the Scottish Borders from our hotel in Edinburgh. We will Visit locations featured in Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code and hear the true history of Rosslyn Abbey.

One evening after dinner we plan to partake in this 1.5-hour ghost tour of Edinburgh, which promises to deliver spine-chilling paranormal frights. Edinburgh’s brutal and bloody past has resulted in a heavily haunted present and this tour will take us to some of the city’s most haunted locations. We will visit a graveyard and descend to the underground vaults that snake beneath the city. We will also hear vivid tales of torture, murder and body snatching.

Jon and I are especially excited to take part in a very old sport of falconry. We will partake in a three hour lesson that involves feeding and handling the birds, then we will take part in a hunt for small game on the Dalhousie Castle grounds.

On day three we will take a day trip to the Scottish Highlands and the famous Loch Ness by bus. We are excited to soak up the unspoiled scenery of the Great Glen and Rannoch Moor and admire spectacular views of the Caledonian Canal, Perthshire, Glen Coe and the Forth Bridge. We will take a boat cruise on Loch Ness to try to catch a glimpse of the legendary monster Nessie. In the afternoon we will enjoy a locally produced 'Taste of Scotland' picnic lunch in the quaint village of Fort Augustus.

Jon and I are of course incredibly excited to try as much scotch as we can, and sample different varieties from around the country. This gift will go towards our searching for the best one!

We will take a tour of Her Royal Majesty's Yacht docked in Edinburgh. We will follow that with a high tea service seated right in the same room as Her Royal Majesty sits when she comes to town.

We'll take a trip to Urquhart Castle a magnificent castle that dates back to the 14th Century and was once a garrison that controlled the Great Glen. Nowadays it's a popular place with "Nessie" hunters; in fact there have been more sightings from the castle than anywhere else! We will explore the castle and keep a close watch for Nessie and a camera ready - just in case!

We'll take a honeymoon trip to the mighty Stirling Castle set high on a volcanic plug which is known to symbolize the spirit of Scotland. On our leisurely visit to the castle we'll have a chance to see the splendid Renaissance Royal Palace of King James V, the magnificent Chapel Royal where Mary Queen of Scots was crowned in 1543 and where one of the greatest Scottish heroes lived the real Braveheart - Sir William Wallace.

On one evening we will enjoy a night out — Scottish style — with this 3-hour pub crawl tour through Edinburgh. With at least five bar stops and complimentary shots and whiskey, we will have a night of pure fun. At each bar we can pick new Scottish name, wear a traditional kilt, learn how to hold and play the bagpipes, or just participate in drinking games along the way.

On day two in the afternoon we will take an in-depth look at one of Scotland’s most famous tipples on this whisky master class in Edinburgh. We will follow a guide around the Diageo Claive Vidiz whisky collection — the largest collection of Scotch Whisky in the world — and gain insight into the 3,384 bottles’ origins. We will challenge our taste buds and see how we score on a blind taste test of blended, single grain and single malt whiskies.

We will spend the night in a real Scottish medieval castle. Surrounded by original pieces of furniture, family portraits, magnificent hallways, unique stairwells, and all the modern comforts of a luxury hotel. If we are really lucky, a friendly ghost!

With your gift we will spend a night in The Inn on the Mile, where we have made reservations. This lovely four star hotel is set right in the middle of Old Town Edinburgh and is surrounded by castles, pubs and romance.

A traditional Scottish breakfast right near our hotel, just off of the famous Royal Mile. Set in a historic building and said to be a welcoming little cafe.

Launched in 2009, The Edinburgh Larder Cafe has built a solid reputation as being the place to eat seasonal, locally sourced and tasty food in the heart of the city.

Quirky, rustic pub, crammed with bric-a-brac and memorabilia, with an outdoor terrace.

The Sheep Heid Inn is a beautifully restored village pub & restaurant in Duddingston. A firm favourite among past monarchs and poets, Scotland's oldest surviving watering hole exudes charm and character from every nook and cranny. It has survived since the 11th century, and has even been visited by Mary, Queen of Scots.

We are so excited to dine in a real, ancient dungeon at Dalhousie Castle. It is a completely unique dining experience in ancient barrel-vaulted dungeons. The menu is a modern interpretation of classic Scottish dishes cooked and prepared in a classic French cooking style, whilst using locally sourced produce. Our reservation is for night four.

Located on the historical Royal Mile in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old town, this is a traditional Scottish public house bursting with charm and character. They serve an enormous selection of drinks including over 100 different whiskies and a selection of ever-changing craft ales.

One of the most famous places to eat in Edinburgh, Oink is a high end, fast food alternative that specializes in the hog roast roll. We are very excited to try this much sought after food item and see what all of the hype is about.

We all know that when Emily travels, she gets hungry and tired (her routine gets thrown off.) And when Emily is hungry and tired, she gets cranky. This gift will go towards meals in the airports, though overpriced, a complete necessity.

Your gift will go towards our shopping on our trip for whatever strikes our fancy. We are especially excited to go to the Ahaha Joke Shop in Edinburgh that inspired JK Rowling to create Zonko's in Harry Potter.

Your gift will go towards our perfect piece of art for our living room. We hope to be reminded of our wonderful honeymoon when we look at it every day.
