From the comfort of an air-conditioned tour bus, see Garden Isle highlights such as the majestic Waimea Canyon and historic towns. Afterward, hop on a boat for a scenic cruise up the serene Wailua River to the legendary Fern Grotto.
Known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, the Waimea Canyon is one of the great wonders of Hawaii. Ten miles (16 km) long, over 3,000 feet (900 m) deep, and a mile (1.6 km) wide, this canyon was formed by the collapse of a volcano and carved by the extreme rainfall on the island’s central peak, Mount Wai’ale’ale. Stand on the edge of this magnificent landscape and marvel at the colorful canyon. Several stops are made along the way to allow you to stretch your legs, take in the picturesque vistas, and snap photos.
As you leave the canyon behind, pass through quaint towns and stop by Kiahuna Plantation for lunch at Joe's on the Green, an open-air restaurant in a casual, clubhouse setting with a large menu. Continue on to Spouting Horn, a natural wonder is formed by seawater rushing under the lava shelf and bursting through a small hole in the surface.
