Taste the local wines at one of the best wineries in Malta and discover its famous handicrafts village. You’ll visit the famous Dome in Mosta and stroll through San Anton Gardens. As you approach Mosta, you’ll notice in the distance, one of the largest unsupported church domes in Europe and the world. The church was nearly destroyed during World War II when an Axis Bomb pierced the dome but failed to explode. To remember this event, the detonator was removed and the bomb is now on display in a small museum attached to the church. Drive to one of the local vineyards, where Malta’s most delicate wines are produced. A wine tasting session accompanied by local specialties will follow. Stop at Ta’ Qali village to see a number of local artisans at work producing typical Maltese ware. Here, you’ll enjoy some free time for shopping. Visit San Anton Gardens surrounding the palace built in 1623, and which today is the residence of the President of the Republic of Malta. The garden as we know today was open to the public in 1882.

Enjoy a lively Greek celebration with the food, wine and dances of Greece, together with great views of this scenic island. After tendering to the port of Athinios, you’ll drive to Pyrgos village, one of the oldest settlements and the highest village on the island. Admire the Venetian fortress crowned by several churches and from the highest point of the island the views out over the caldera are majestic. Head to the picturesque, village of Oia for more magnificent views of the caldera. With its cobblestone streets and beautiful old homes perched on the cliffside, you’ll appreciate why the traditional Cycladic architecture is so appealing and a perfect complement to the natural beauty of the area. Here, you’ll have free time to stroll and explore this charming village. Visit one of Santorini’s renowned Greek restaurants, where you’ll enjoy traditional Greek food, wine, music and dances. Join in the lively celebration, dancing to 'Zorba the Greek' and breaking plates while the bouzouki plays its solo, Opa! After a buffet style meal, you’ll continue to Fira town, the lovely capital of the island built on the rim of the caldera wall, before returning to your ship.

Combine mythology at the archaeological site of Knossos with a taste of old village life and Greek snacks at the preserved settlement of Arolithos. From the fortress-dominated harbor of Heraklion, your day starts with a drive to the archaeological site of Knosos; the Palace of Knossos was the largest and most spectacular of Minoan palaces. It was the court of the legendary King Minos, father of the mythological Minotaur, half-bull, half-man. The original palace was built around 2,000 B.C., and after being destroyed by an earthquake, was replaced with a more complex one, which strongly resembled a labyrinth. It will take you about 1 1/2 hours to visit the highlights of this incredible site. Continue to the very interesting traditional settlement of Arolithos. In this village, you'll have the opportunity to see how people lived in the past. Walk through the narrow, colorful alleys leading to the main square where, under the shade of a plane tree, you can taste various Greek snacks, refreshments, wine and the local spirit aperitif raki. Afterwards, you may stroll around the narrow streets of Arolithos and get acquainted with a typical Cretan village.

Following a narrated drive passing by a host of Athens' major sites, you'll proceed to the Monastiraki area, a flea market neighborhood in the old town of Athens and one of the principal shopping districts. You'll find clothing boutiques, souvenir shops and specialty stores. It's a major tourist attraction for bargain shopping. In the square, is the Pantanassa Church Monastery. Your tour continues with a visit to the New Acropolis Museum, an archaeological museum focused on the findings of the Acropolis of Athens. The museum was built to house every artifact found on the rock and its feet, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. The museum lies on the archaeological site of Makrygianni and the ruins of a part of Roman and early Byzantine Athens. After visiting the museum, you’ll proceed to the picturesque Plaka District, an old historical neighborhood of Athens. The Plaka District is clustered around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis and incorporates a labyrinthine of streets and neoclassical architecture. Here you’ll have time to explore on your own. You'll find cobbled pedestrian lanes that are lined with shops, boutiques, jewelry stores, souvenir stands, tavernas, cafes, and flea market stalls.

Mainly a fishing village, Herculaneum was most appreciated for its position overlooking the Bay of Naples. It became very rich as it was chosen as a summer resort by wealthy Romans who built wonderful villas adorned with frescoes, mosaics and great sculptures. There’s a feeling about Herculaneum that’s quite different from what one feels in other ancient world centers brought to light so far, including Pompeii. The torrent of mud flooding down from the volcano served for centuries as the best possible defense against atmospheric agents and illegal excavators. See the houses, shops, and baths, including wooden elements, foodstuffs and fabrics that are preserved intact, thus offering a unique vision of their lives long ago. En route, visit a cameo factory nearby to see how the famous jewelry is made and then have some time to browse the store.
