Mary Anna Yram and Amy Mendosa's Honeymoon Registry
Ajijic, Mexico
Thank you for visiting our Honeymoon Registry! We are so excited to be planning some time away to celebrate.
We will be spending eleven days in tiny Ajijic, Mexico. Ajijic sits in a valley between mountains to the north and Mexico's largest lake, Lake Chapala, to the south. It's about 45 minutes from Guadalajara, one of Mexico's largest cities. We're considering retiring to Mexico someday, so we are excited to combine a quiet and quirky vacation with a little reconnaissance.
Ajijic is home to the largest American ex-pat community - it's full of retirees, artists, and just people seeking a lower cost of living at a slower pace. It's known for its narrow cobblestone streets, Spanish colonial architecture, and central plaza. The main streets are full of very colorful buildings, small shops, and artists working in their galleries. We are looking forward eating, wandering, sight-seeing, and just enjoying some time together.
