In the company of your guide, arrive at one of the most important cities in Europe and the third most important in the world for Christian pilgrimage. Begin with the visit to the cathedral. At this impressive place of religious cult, your guide will give you a complete description and will show you the Jubilee Door which is only opened for the pardons of each Jubilee Year, the tomb of Saint James and perhaps the most important piece of the cathedral, the 'Portico da Gloria', whose lintels were laid in place in 1188 and is one of the principal works of Medieval sculpture. Then you'll have free time to explore the city, grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants, or do some shopping, before meeting your guide for the return to your ship.

This stimulating bicycle ride takes you on well extended paths and small roads without heavy traffic through the lush hilly landscape, green river valleys and the wild landscape of the natural park. Leaving Malaga, your mini van will wind up the mountainside of the Montes de Malaga Natural Park. Sit back, relax and enjoy the superb views. Keep your eyes peeled for the local wildlife, which include deer, polecats and vultures. Following a short safety briefing you'll be able to ride at your own pace and stop for photos along the way to admire the best viewpoints, fauna and flora. A brief observation stop is made to view the protected area of the Leonardo vultures. Ease your way gently up the hills before the steady descent to our refreshment venue where you can take a well earned rest. Admire the wonderful views of the natural park as you enjoy traditional tapas and a refreshing soft drink, tea or coffee.

From Cannes, you'll drive to Monaco, where after leaving your coach, you'll be carried to the top of the rock by escalators and elevators. On the upper level, enjoy a guided walking tour passing by the Oceanographic Museum, the cathedral, and view the exterior of the Prince's palace. After a short period of free time, you'll reboard your coach and reach Monte Carlo Square where you'll enjoy some additional leisure time to take in the attractions of your choice around the Place du Casino. You may wish to stroll across the street to admire the Hotel de Paris, do a little window shopping around the corner, or even try your luck at the Cafe de Paris Casino.

Cross the bridge over the Tagus River towards Sesimbra, a busy fishing village in a sheltered bay overlooked by the Serra da Arrabida. The local fishing fleet is made up of brightly colored boats all moored in the port. High above the town is the Moorish castle restored in the 18th century when a church and small flower-filled cemetery were added inside the walls. Continue to the town of Azeitao, best known for its wine, especially the famous Moscatel de Setubal. Here you'll taste the local wines and learn how they are made during your visit to a charming and prestigious wine lodge. Then head towards the Arrabida Natural Park which covers the small range of limestone mountains. The road snakes across the top of the ridge and affords astounding views of Setubal and Troia. The natural park was established to protect the wild, beautiful landscape and rich variety of birds and wildlife. The name Arrabida comes from Arabic, meaning a place of prayer, and the wooded hillsides are indeed a peaceful and secluded retreat. The sheltered, south-facing slopes are thickly covered with aromatic and evergreen shrubs and trees such as pine and cypress.

Mainly a fishing village, Herculaneum was most appreciated for its position overlooking the Bay of Naples. It became very rich as it was chosen as a summer resort by wealthy Romans who built wonderful villas adorned with magnificent frescoes, mosaics and great sculptures. There's a feeling about Herculaneum that's quite different from what one feels in other ancient world centers brought to light so far, including Pompeii. The torrent of mud flooding down from the volcano served for centuries as the best possible defense against atmospheric agents and illegal excavators. See the houses, shops, and baths, including wooden elements, foodstuffs and fabrics that are preserved intact, thus offering a unique vision of their lives long ago. En route, visit a cameo factory nearby to see how the famous jewelry is made and then have some time to browse the store.
