It is an interesting ride from Kralendijk, where the ships dock and most of the hotels are located, to the southern end of the island. No experience is necessary to kayak the mangroves and once you arrive at the location where the quiet waters will allow you a relaxing ride, you will get some instruction in handling your two person kayak. You will have a little practice if indeed it is your first time kayaking and then, one following another, you will move inside the mangrove canals next to a beautiful bay. Sometimes the clear water will be exposed to you and, at other times, you will see only a sea of greens. Because the group size will always be small, you can relish in the quiet. With a passionate local as your guide, you will learn about the mangrove sanctuary while gliding through bird habitats and fish spawning areas. You will see many of the hundreds of species of fish and birds that populate the sheltered labyrinths of the mangrove channels You will have time for an optional snorkel if you wish before heading back to reality. Still the return ride will have more meaning as you now understand more about the island and how it works.

Aruba has beautiful sights to see. But let's be honest, Jen loves Flamingo's! This is a wonderful way to enjoy a couples massage on the beach AND play with flamingo's.

Though the paved roads are lovely, Curacao has a wild side to it. This tour, which is part off-road, is a guided, yet adventurous, way to explore that wild side and discover new places you have never seen before. First comes your intro and safety briefing with instructions by your guide/driver in reference to driving in open vehicles, and then, prepared, you will head out with your guide. Your 4 x 4 adventure begins meekly, but quickly heads for those areas, including Christoffel National Park, that can give you a thrill. On your way, you will see the Flamingo Sanctuary in the Jan Kok area. This strange crowd of long-legged birds has a tendency to gather here in the shallows. The park itself has a rich variety of local flora and fauna. Nature lovers will find the park teeming with local birds and plants, including species that are not easily seen elsewhere on the island. You will be taking the "Orchid Route," a route on which only park rangers are normally allowed to drive. At Seru Bientu, you will have an amazing view over the island and will experience Curacao nature in its most unique way. This combination of beautiful nature and some historical sites from the time of the slave trade and huge slave plantations gives you a cross-cultural view of the history of Curacao. We will also travel through an off-road area filled with orchids, birds of prey, and sometimes even deer. Other highlights of the tour are some amazing views--some of them more than 1,000 feet above sea level. This is a MUST-DO adventure.
