There are so many sites in the city of Cusco that we want to see. The complete tourist ticket is valid for 10 days, costs S/.130 for adults (Approx. $US46). Help us visit one of the oldest sites in the Americas! The Sacred City of Caral-Supe reflects the rise of civilisation in the Americas. As a fully developed socio-political state, it is remarkable for its complexity and its impact on developing settlements throughout the Supe Valley and beyond. Its early use of the quipu as a recording device is considered of great significance. The design of both the architectural and spatial components of the city is masterful, and the monumental platform mounds and recessed circular courts are powerful and influential expressions.

Chocolate and ice cream can be found around just about any corner in the bigger cities. Yum :)

Surprisingly, Peru has lots of food options that aren't Peruvian. Some of the best Chinese food can be found here. "Join us" on a fun night out with some amazing food!

I am excited to introduce Ryan to the many varieties of Pisco Sours that the country offers. Picture mini margaritas with a big punch behind them. We would love to have a drink on you. :)

With your lovely wedding gift, we’ll have the opportunity to visit the Larco Herrera Museum on our honeymoon in Peru! This 18th century colonial mansion holds the most extensive collection of pre-Columbian including examples of textile work, tools that ancient Peruvians used in their everyday life, huaco ceramics and gold and silver pieces with precious stones. To top that off, we’ll enjoy strolling around the Peruvian Handicraft market picking up some local souvenirs in Lima!

Ryan's lifetime dream has been to visit this beautiful site. This is the inspiration for our visit to Peru. We plan on catching the earliest bus possible so we can beat the tourists and get the best pictures of the site. We will spend an entire day here, and you all can expect a million pictures to be posted after our visit.

I can't wait to explore areas that I didn't get to see the first time I was in Peru. Everything is so much fun as a couple!

Pachacamac Pilgrimage Center was built around 700 A.D. as a temple for the worship of the sun god, Pachacamac. With your lovely wedding gift, we’ll explore this ancient sacred ground! We’ll see palaces, plazas and temples that have been restored and visit the on-site museum that has a collection of local relics!

It is in the heart of the city and has become one of the most visited places in Cusco. One of the main purposes of the markets is to provide the freshest products for the locals, and what better opportunity to see the everyday life of the people of the city. Without a doubt in San Pedro Market in Cusco, it is one of the best ways to experience the daily experiences of the people of Cusco. Stay alert, you will find many “things” that will assault your senses and possibly also your sensitivities. You can probably expect a souveneir or 2 for yourself, from us!

This is a pre-Incan cemetery on the shores of Lake Umayo near Puno in Peru. The tombs, which are built above ground in tower-like structures called chullpas, are the vestiges of the Qulla people, who are Aymara conquered by the Inca Empire in the 15th century. Just wait until you see us standing next to these huge funeral towers!

On Thursday, April 4th we will make our way to Cusco by a tiny little airplane. We will stay 2 nights at this hotel, before making our way to the beautiful mountain town of Aguas Calientes, where we will see the famous Machu Picchu site!

On Tuesday, April 9th we fly again in a small plane to the southern town of Puno. My friend Claire and I actually stayed at this same hotel back in 2015 when we attended a Peruvian field school. We will stay here for 3 nights. There is a wonderful shopping area and restaurants with the best avacados in town just a few yards from the hotel.

After a long day of traveling, we arrive in Lima at midnight. We will get a taxi to this hostel, which is actually owned privately by a very nice family. I stayed here back in 2015, so it will be nice to have some familiarity! They have awesome breakfasts. We are right in the heart of Lima. We will stay here for 3 nights, until our transfer to Cusco.

The time will have come. Our last day and night in Peru. We will be exhausted after yet another flight from Arequipa to Lima. We will stay one night in another Tierra Viva Hotel. Help us have one last relaxing night before a full day of traveling back to Denver!

Our last town on our honeymoon trip will be Arequipa. This is actually a city I didn't visit, so we will be learning as we go! We will be here for 2 nights. I'm betting this will be the most relaxing part of our trip. On Sunday, April 14th we transfer back to Lima.

We will spend some time in Puno, one of the southern most cities in Peru. We will spend a day exploring the highest altitude lake in the world, Lake Titicaca. We are going to stay one night with a host family of one of the islands!

It's casual, fun and perfect for an afternoon lunch. With so many restaurants in town, we'll choose the most perfect, casual restaurant where we'll take delight in the juiciest burgers, fresh sandwiches, chicken and fries!

With your thoughtful wedding gift, we’ll browse around the Peruvian Indian Market while honeymooning in Lima, Peru and pick up some local handicrafts and traditional souvenirs to take home with us!
