The chic but informal Galvin Brasserie de Luxe brings Parisian style to the heart of Edinburgh, and the design theme pays homage to the grand urban French bistros of Paris and Lyon, with its highly polished surfaces, ceramic tiles, archetypal lighting, and reflecting mirrors. Here, we will experience a number of dining options for entertaining and socializing. We will have a light lunch at the seafood counter, an ideal place for us to whet our palates before dining at our table, and savor the menu created by the Galvin brothers, featuring a blend of classic French brasserie favorites and local seasonal specialties. The Galvin Brasserie de Luxe epitomizes the style, cuisine and atmosphere that established the Galvins' reputation at their first flagship restaurant, the Bistrot de Luxe on London's Baker Street. Originally named The Pompadour Restaurant, this elegant restaurant first opened in 1925 at the heyday of Victorian railway travel to serve the rich and famous of the time, for which The Caledonian was the hotel of choice in Scotland. Having been restored to its former splendor, the Pompadour by Galvin continues its tradition of classical French excellence under the guidance of the Galvin brothers. Here, we will savor selections from the a la carte and tasting menus that feature classical French-inspired dishes prepared with locally sourced seasonal Scottish ingredients, as well as traditional Scottish and English favorites. The Galvin brothers showcase the very best of the region's produce presented in their unique style. We will have the opportunity to appreciate the specially selected collection of French regional wines that has been created by the highly experienced sommelier to complement each of the menu selections.
