The only way to explore the world's largest sand island is by 4-wheel drive buses. I’ll have the choice of either a half or full day excursion, all escorted by expert local guides who will take me to some of the best spots on the island, like stunning Lake McKenzie and the rainforest station.

I’ll enjoy a delicious 3 course meal within the grounds of the Koorana Crocodile Farm. I can even try Crocodile!! Then I’ll see these enormous reptiles being fed, view the breeding pens and, finally, have my photograph taken holding one of the smaller ones.

I’ll cruise to Hardy Lagoon aboard an air conditioned, high speed catamaran. On my journey to the Barrier Reef, I’ll enjoy complimentary tea and coffee while being shown the art of snorkeling and watching educational reef videos. Once on the Reef, I’ll take a tour in a glass bottomed boat and semi-submersible, but the very best way to experience the Reef is to get amongst it by swimming and snorkeling. If I wish, I’ll try an optional scuba dive, with instruction and equipment provided and to top off a fantastic day, a sumptuous buffet lunch is provided.

I’ll climb aboard for the world's most beautiful rainforest experience. The skyrail will take me on a cableway ride just above the Rainforest canopy between Cairns and Kuranda. On the way I’ll have the chance to experience the beauty and diversity of the rainforest at floor level at the two interactive stations. I’ll take walks, see the displays at a Rainforest Interpretive Centre or ask questions of the expert staff and local guides.

I’ll take a cruise in Hervey Bay, from mid August to mid October and view the southern humpback whales returning south to Antarctica after calving in northern waters. Whale watching boats cruise amongst the huge mammals allowing me to view from close range while they rest and play in the bay.

Sailing the Whitsundays is a must for all visitors. This is an outstanding opportunity for me to see the Whitsunday Passage in all its glory. I’ll sail past tropical islands on my way to the pristine water and white sand of Whitehaven Beach, regarded as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. I’ll then enjoy lunch before returning in the late afternoon.

Any help to get to and from our destination is a wonderful gift. We will be thanking you long after take off.
