It's a Surprise!
We welcome everyone to join us on our epic journey as we look forward to our wedding day surrounded by fantastic family and friends. As many of you already know, organizing a wedding is extremely expensive, especially in countries like Tunisia. Therefore, we are very happy to receive any kind of support from our environment, small or big. At the same time, we try to have an original wedding with traditional rituals from all over the world, so do not hesitate to tell us crazy ideas that we can incorporate into our wedding day! If the budget allows, we will make a small film showing the different steps to preparing a Tunisian wedding. We will post this along with a personal thank you message for everyone who supported our wedding! This is our idea, we hope to see you in February!

Bride's Hammam - حمَام العروسة

Bride's Hammam - حمَام العروسة

The day of the Hammam is entirely dedicated to Laaroussa (the fiancée) Forming a musical procession, all women take care of “Laaroussa” for example by performing a scrub to the glove of “Kessa” or a mask with clay. Everything is done so that the bride comes out of the hammam with a skin of softness and radiant beauty and thus be attracted all the attention on the day of her marriage. This ritual helps the young woman to relax before the wedding ceremony and is a real ritual of beauty.

Bride's Hammam - حمَام العروسة

The wedding - حفل الزواج

On the morning of the celebration, the groom drives to the bride's hairdresser with a motorcade and musicians playing folk music to bring his bride to the wedding ceremony. You can hear car horns, shous, singing and music. On this day, the marriage papers are signed. After the signing of the marriage certificate, a joyful celebration begins, the "dokhla". People eat, dance, sing, hug each other and congratulate each other and the newlywed couple. Arab weddings are usually very loud and are accompanied by extremely loud music (also accompanied by high-pitched sounds made by people). The bride performs a special wedding dance and shows off her henna tattoos and jewelry. The other guests also dance for hours. For most of the evening, the newlyweds sit on their decorated chairs on a stage (we won't), accepting congratulations and taking photos with a never-ending stream of wedding guests.
