Sixteen days. Two countries. Five destinations. This is the kind of honeymoon we'll be talking about for the rest of our lives. We start in Ischia — a volcanic island just off the coast of Naples that most travelers never find. Three nights of thermal spas, black-sand beaches, and the medieval Castello Aragonese rising out of the sea. From there, a stop near Naples to explore Pompeii's ancient ruins before flying south to Sicily, where we'll base ourselves at a stunning Autograph Collection resort in Brucoli. Days here are spent hiking the slopes of Mt. Etna with a local wine guide and wandering the clifftop village of Taormina.Mid-trip, we cross into Croatia. Split comes first — a city where Roman ruins form the walls of a living neighborhood, and the Dalmatian coast stretches out in every direction. A short ferry hop brings us to Hvar, one of the most beautiful islands in the Adriatic, where lavender fields meet turquoise water and the Pakleni Islands are ours to explore by boat. The finale is Dubrovnik — the walled city on the sea, perched on limestone cliffs above the Adriatic, as dramatic at sunrise as it is at sunset.
