Drive along the coast leaving Villefranche en route to Cannes and through the jet set city of Nice. Visit the charming and modern city of Cannes, home to the Festival Palace where the International Film Festival is celebrated. Stroll along La Croisette, Cannes' seafront promenade. At the village of Grasse, visit a local perfume manufacturer, where you'll be guided through the factory to see first-hand how fragrances are created. Afterwards, you can purchase perfumes, soaps, and creams in the factory shop. Lunch is served in a local restaurant. After lunch, continue to the village of St. Paul-de-Vence. This picture-perfect setting of ancient walls and medieval stone buildings has enchanted visitors since the 16th century. Enjoy strolling along the village's narrow alleyways, or browse the many art galleries and craft shops.

Departing the port of Livorno, drive through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to the historic university town of Pisa. A short walk will take you to the Field of Miracles to marvel at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Enjoy the beauty of this architectural wonder as you take in the scenery from the piazza. Upon reaching Florence, your guide will escort you along the city streets to the Piazza del Duomo, where the Cathedral, Bell Tower and Baptistery share the same square. The cathedral is one of the longest in the world, and took over 140 years to build. Its 14th century bell tower is richly decorated with colored marble and fine sculptures, while the baptistery is festooned with magnificent mosaics and a copy of Ghiberti's "Gates of Paradise" cast in bronze. Stop in the Piazza della Signoria, the heart of Florence and the city's largest square where you will see a copy of Michelangelo's "David" and the Loggia dei Lanzi. Pause for a photo opportunity with your local guide at the nearest point to Ponte Vecchio, famous for its covered design and shopping opportunities. Lunch (with a flute of Italian champagne and house wine) will be served at a first class restaurant or hotel. Following lunch, you'll reach the Church of Santa Croce, known as Italy's Westminster Abbey for the Italian monarchy buried there. There, after the guide's external explanation, you'll have limited time at leisure to explore or shop.

Leaving the pier you will proceed towards Pico dos Barcelos, where you can see distant Funchal and the surrounding villages scattered over the green slopes. Continue towards Cabo Girao, the highest sea cliff in Europe and the second highest in the world. Soaring 1,900 feet, its etched face tells the tale of its volcanic origins. From this impressive promontory, you will have breathtaking views along the island's southern coast. Passing by Estreito de Camara de Lobos, known for its vineyards, you will reach Camara de Lobos, a well-known fishing village used by Sir Winston Churchill to create beautiful island paintings. There, you will see its lovely, quaint setting of red-tile roofed houses clustered on the rocky point and the brightly painted fishing boats anchored in the harbor. The final stop will be at a Madeira Wine Lodge to sample some of the local wines.

Follow process from fermentation to labeling/corking. Highlight is tasting champagne. Venture to Torres Cellars. Once inside cellars, tour facility & observe how produced & bottled. A wine tasting is done before chance to purchase wines. Return to Barcelona.
