The randomness of these events are so awesome because they allowed for both of us to truly be in the same place for two totally different reasons...
Her reason: there was a benefit show taking place in downtown san diego for a cause that she really supports and gets behind...Darfur and the invisible children if interested..( www.invisiblechildren.com)
My reason:Chilling with the boys in pacific beach we came across the old school record store that reminded me of the city, after milling around for a couple of minutes with no intention on buying anything. I came across the FREE handouts telling of local shows going on in the area. The one that caught my eye was this underground hip-hop show taking place downtown. Upon arrival the atmosphere was chill and the crowd looked like they were ready to get down. So the music starts playing and i'm getting into it. I mean as much as i can, this is west coast music..But over to my left there is this cute lil' hippie chick rockin' this crazy bandanna... So i battle danced my way over to her and after a couple of round offs and spins there she was the new girl of my dreams. Unfortunately i hadn't mapped out a game plan which is why the first words to my future bride were: " Can i get your number i think you are mad interesting" Her response: " YOU DON"T EVEN KNOW MY NAME!" Damaged but not broken i responded well lets go in the hall so we can talk... 5 hours later with the venue shut down and our two cars the only ones left on the street.. We just sat on the curb kicking it, telling each other our life stories...We have been together ever since.. and the moral of the story: When the man has you pinned in the corner it's your ninja training that is going to help you prevail... ps. never leave home without your sword!!! WU-TANG is for the kids...
