We both went to the University of Southern Maine, majoring in Political Science and Criminology. We actually met on the day that the students moved into the dorms because Jess was an RA for two different buildings and Anthony lived in one of them. We became very good friends throughout our time at USM. We both had different relationships, but stayed in touch, acting as support system for each other through almost everything. Both of our relationships ended and we realized that we wanted to be more than friends. We offically started dating on May 19th of 2006 and have been happy ever since.
We got engaged on August 30, 2007. We wanted to get our pictures taken together because we did not have a lot of pictures of us, so Anthony set up an appointment with a photograhper he knew. I thought that it was going to be just another day, but little did I know Anthony had a big surprise planned for me! We got our inside pictures done and then we went to the Biddeford Pools to get some outside pictures. Even on the way to the beach I was joking to the photographer that I needed a nice ring to match the necklace that Anthony had given me for an anniversary present. Little did I know, the photographer was in on the surprise too. We got to the beach and had some pictures taken. Finally the photographer suggested she would take some pictures of us walking the beach. This was the cue to start. As we started to walk, Anthony started talking about how he knew I was the one for him. The photographer interrupted because she saw the opportunity for "the perfect picture"; she actually had run out of film. Anthony then continued talking and finally got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes of course. Anthony had also taken my parents as well and his parents to dinner to tell them/ ask them about proposing. It was perfect.
We are planning a destination wedding at Couples Negril in Jamaica on May 19th, 2009. We have invited our parents to attend the special day so they can be a part of it.
We plan to have a reception on May 30th at 4:00pm at Champions in Waterville. We will have a moc-ceremony there so all of our friends and family can witness the union and celebrate the special time with us.
