Joey and I met years ago, very briefly, when we were both working at Overton's in Greenville, NC. We didn't really know each other, but had mutual friends. After leaving Overton's in 2006, we did not keep in touch, but remained linked by the world of MySpace.

When I went back to Overton's in 2008 Joey was still there! We sat near each other in our center and became fast friends. Eventually, our friendship blossomed into much more and brought us to where we are.

While Joey, apparently, had been planning for a while, the proposal was spur of the moment and took place in my kitchen! While there was absolutely NOTHING romantic to the proposal, I was surprised. If you know me well enough, there's no surprising me because I'm so nosy.

So, that's us in a nutshell. These days, it's me, Joey, and our farm of 2 kitties and 2 turtles.

Our wedding date has finally been set for August 14th, 2010. Joey and I come from opposing religions and religious beliefs, so we eventually decided against a church wedding. It took a LOT of looking and calling around, but we eventually found a wonderful location in Raleigh, NC for our wedding-- 1705 Prime.

At 1705 Prime, we will have an outdoor ceremony and then move indoors for our early afternoon reception.

We want to thank everyone who has been there for us and supported us through our relationship. We know that some circumstances are different in our lives and we appreciate those who have not focused on that and have focused on the love that we share and the encouragement and strength we give to one another.
