Anne Cairns & Eugene Kehoe
Our Story
We knew each other vaguely thru our spouses. Gene knew Don from campfires at his daughter and son-in laws house (Zeke and Judi Kenyon). Anne knew Betsy thru Judi Kenyon when she had tupperware parties, etc. Both our spouses passed away two years ago and we met at Gene's house after Zeke and Judi moved in with him. Zeke and Judi did not like Anne being alone and started inviting her over for cookouts, etc. Gene invited Anne to a 50th Wedding Anniversary of friends from Church and that is when we actually first started to go out on dates (movies, etc.). Anne returned to the Church and started participating in the Church functions with Gene. Neither one of us were looking for a new partner but we believe that God brought us together and we have become closer and closer each day and with God and both our families help we will begin a new life together. Gene has three daughters and their spouses and six grandchildren and one great-grandaughter. Anne has one daughter, one son and daughter-in-law and two step-daughters and eight grandchildren.
Our Wedding
We became engaged this year, 2009, and we will be married on July 25, 2009. We have chosen this date because July 23 is Anne's birthday and July 24 is Gene's birthday so what better day to get married, but July 25 (Gene will never forget the date). We will be married in a Nuptial Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Route 206, Greene, NY at 11:00 a.m.
Our Reception
The wedding reception will be held at the Silo Restaurant, Route 206 to Moran Road, Greene, NY, which is approximately 5 miles from the Church. The time of the reception is 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. The reception will be semi-casual (no jeans, shorts, tank tops, etc.) There will be a DJ so come prepared to dance the afternoon away. The food will be buffet style with many delicious entrees including an open soda bar (soda, milk, juice, tea, coffee, etc.). You may purchase alcohol from the Silo's bar if desired.
Travel Arrangements
Since this is a summer wedding we are very hopeful that the weather will be warm and sunny (please do pray for a nice warm sunny day). Greene's annual craft fair just happens to be on the same day as our wedding so maybe you will be able to take in some of the local crafts.
