Cathryn Hatcher & Justin Toenyes

Our Story

Justin and I met at Sacramento State Univ. in our Sign Language class in the fall semester of 2003. We talked a little in class and before winter break we exchanged cell phone numbers, but we didn't talk until.... as fate would have it, Spring semester came along and we were taking the same Astronomy class. We officially began dating that summer in August of 2004. Over the years we learned as much as a person could learn about their closest friend and true love. Our bond grew greatly between each other and each others families. After I (finally) :) graduated from Sacramento State Univ., Justin and I were ready to take the next step in our relationship and became engaged! Justin proposed in beautiful Sonoma, CA at the amazing Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn, on December 6, 2008. It was a beautiful, romantic proposal, that I will remember always.

Justin and I are very similar in that we both love wine and wine tasting, trying new and different things, being outdoors- camping, fishing, playing sports, spending time with our families, relaxing with one another, spending time with friends and most of all traveling.

We are so happy to be able to share the rest of our lives together.

Our Wedding

Our wedding will be held at the beautiful and historic Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery, located in charming downtown Sonoma. "The history of Sebastiani Vineyards dates back to 1825. In that year, the Franciscan fathers of nearby mission San Francisco Solano, assisted by local native Americans, first cleared and planted land for their vineyards. These vineyards are among the oldest vineyard sites in northern California. They were acquired in 1904 by Samuele Sebastiani, the founder of our family winery, who immigrated from the wine producing region of Tuscany, Italy in 1895.
Samuele's story is an interesting one. When he first arrived in California, like most immigrants of the time, he literally had nothing but the clothes on his back. He began working at odd jobs and finally saved enough money to purchase a horse and wagon, which he used to haul cobblestones from a quarry in the hill behind Sonoma. The stones were used to help pave the streets of San Francisco. By 1904, with the money he saved from this enterprise he was able to buy land, our original stone winery, and grow grapes. He began making fine Sonoma Valley wine, a craft he learned before immigrating to America.

We ask all of our guests to arrive at Sebastiani Winery at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time; 5:00pm. The suggested attire is semi-formal. For directions please refer to your directions card that came with your invitation.
