Our Story
Our journey toward the altar began what seems like yesterday, but was almost 6 years ago. Both starting out in our earlier dating years as “relationship challenged” we were then only looking for someone to share our lives with. Someone who we were not only attracted to on a physical level, but also a partner who held the same values, believes, and goals for a future life together. I know, I know, we were both asking a lot!
Each of our respective family members decided to convince us to join J-Date (a Jewish online dating site). This was no easy task considering that we each are very stubborn in our nature. Eventually, we were worn down and started fishing through the sea of online faces to try to find someone special.
We each ventured onto several dates that we would classify as “good learning experiences” to say the least. All-in-all we both learned about what we were, and were not, looking for. After awhile, we both began to grow very cynical of the whole process.
Right before we both threw in the towel, I sent an online wink to Alex letting him know that I was interested in speaking/emailing. As soon as we talked on the phone we knew that there was something special. We both felt like we had known the other for years and skipped right past the small talk into deeper conversations.
We decided to meet a week later in South Florida. As time went by we both became very attracted to each other as we found that we had a great deal in common.
After our first date, we visited each other every weekend (we lived 3 hours apart). I would drive from Orlando to South Florida and Alex would come visit me in Orlando. After 8 months of long distance dating, we knew it was something special and I moved down to South Florida. The rest is history…
Soon after, we happily welcomed the small addition to our family…
His name is Mordi (Mordechai) and he is our adorable Jack Russell Terrier…
And we all lived happily ever after…
