| The count down is on! I didn't think I would be that girl, who counted the seconds, but I am getting excited to be married and to stop thinking about the wedding. :) It's all I think about anymore. So, I have a lot of stuff done but seems like I need a ton more but my grandma will be here Tuesday and she make sure it gets done. She is my sanity right now. When my dress came in, it was too small so I have been busting my back to fit it. We will see, but I have lost almost 20 pounds so far so I think I am on the right track. Well- there is the break down of what's to come! Hope to see you there. I haven't really talked much about the honeymoon and I think that is because I am afraid we won't be able to afford it when it comes time. You can see the different types of things we want to do as well as destinations info on the registry, but I wanted to express the whys behind them. Why New York City? Well, James and I had discussed options like a cruise and such, but we just didn't have he passion for water stuff- heck there is a reason I don't own a swimming suit!! :) After looking at some options, we ultimately decided on NYC because we both have some heart that can be found there. James loves the history and museums, I love the music and city! Although neither of us have been there, we feel it is perfect. It is a pretty safe bet that we would have a layover of some sort so since ours was in Chicago, It just made sense to hit up a ball game at Wrigley Field. How will we get there you ask? By the amazing train. I love the train, scenery, cheaper, better seats, and I get to spend two extra days with my new husband (that was the firat time I referenced him as husband without the crazy explanation afterwards) Just to be honest- with 4 kids and only one income, we can't afford a honeymoon (we can barley afford the wedding). Please help us out with that instead of with plates and blenders. (AKA: please don't make me return all those gifts right before boarding the train...) ;) hugs-kisses xoxo -Tiffany I ordered my dress on May 13th. I am super excited to get it and see how beautiful it is in person. I have a few reservations about ordering online but was able to place custom measurements so I know the dress will fit. The estimated shipping date is this Friday. I will not post the pictures until after the wedding, just so you have a little surprise factor. :) So I finally ordered my dress today. YAY!!! We are aiming to be VERY casual... as in, wear your basball attire! It will be a fun day and I can't wait to see everyone there and have a great time. ![]() So I have been debating within my soul (ok just my head) about a reception. I only have a little amount of money to work with so I had thought to just nix the reception all together. After getting blessed with a church to have the reception and a DJ to play there, I ultimately decided that a reception won't be too bad. Keeping with the baseball theme, we are serving hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches. Sides will included peanuts, pretzels, popcorn and chips. Since we are going to be at the church, no alcohol will be served but there will be plenty of lemonade and tea for everyone. I don't have the funds to rent tables and chairs so we are going to have a standing/picnic style reception. PLEASE BRING A BLANKET TO SIT ON! I think this will be so much fun and intimate. I can't wait to see everyone and celebrate our union together. ![]() I am super excited to be officially planning our wedding!! We want to keep it casual and fun, but full of love. I have tell you, it's kind off like putting on a production, but real life. I know it is all going to be ok, but I can't help but think that I am going to be up there in jeans because I forgot to get a dress. Lol. yeah, yeah, a little extreme, but that stuff runs through my mind.
So- we have decided on a baseball theme! Sounds cheesy at first but it will be fun. Mini hotdogs and burgers, popcorn, maybe some cotton candy... Lemonaid, tea... Cake and peanuts (not together) and all kinds of other stuff will be at our cocktail hour (non alcoholic) and I can't wait to start getting decorations put together. (Plus, anything that can be repurposed will, like the baseballs in the center pieces will be used for James baseball team!!) |
