Bride

The day was December 4th, a day that will live in infamy... Our paths first crossed during a Boise State Track and Field meet (Jake was working in Media Relations and Katie was the Athletic Trainer). It wouldn't take long to find a common interest, as we spent the first hour talking about Siberian Huskies. Katie mentioned how badly she wanted to buy one. Jake, having just bought his Husky puppy Sasha, advised her that it was a terrible idea. Neither of them could have guessed that four years later they would be sharing the terror.

But as life goes, a new friendship is all that would come out of that day at the track. It would take over 3 years in fact, for God's plan to start to be revealed. During that time what we did discover was a mutual respect and admiration for each other. And finally, on December 31, 2010 fate would bring us together at a Boise State basketball game which prompted a "hang-out" dinner to be set up for the first time.

On January 3, 2011, we went on our first date, although neither one of us knew for sure that it was a date. By the end of dinner we both did know, however, that we wanted to see where this might go. After just a few months it started becoming clear that we were who each other had been looking for - confirmed primarily by our mutual affinity for cheese cake, popcorn, and the movie "Out Cold". All of this overwhelming evidence led to our engagement, March 3, 2012, on top of Bogus Basin Mountain.
