In order to get the most of the Tikal experience, we'll need to hire a guide to help us navigate the large, ancient city.

The area around Antigua is just gorgeous. We'll take a 1/2 day hike to explore the scenery and nature of the area.

To better understand the history of Antigua and all that the town has to offer, we'll take a tour with an American now living in the area, Elizabeth Bell.

While in Antigua, we'll take a tour of a local volcano. We hope the lava doesn't look as scary as this picture, but are looking forward to hiking and seeing what it has to offer!

We'll have a drink or two on you at the local bar ... Margs and beer here we come! Cheers!

With your wonderful gift we'll spend a night (or 2), exploring the nightlife in Antigua. We know there's a killer pan flautist to check out, but hopefully more!

We're looking forward to hibernating and relaxing in a deluxe room at the hotel -- it's our honeymoon after all!

In Antigua is Casa Santo Domingo, a deluxe hotel with superb rooms and dinners. We'd love to be able to stay there the last night of our stay in Antigua, relaxing in luxury.

The fruit in Guatemala is amazing and breakfast is packed with it! We'll be sure to get our fill.

We'll enjoy dinner on the patio overlooking the lake in Flores. It'll be hot, but delicious and beautiful.

Eating in a foreign country is always an adventure! With so many restaurants in town, we'll choose the some of the best and munch on Central American fare.

We're excited about making dinner reservations at Santo Domingo in Antigua where the food promises to be some of the best we've ever eaten.

We would love to shop around for our favorite piece of art as a memento from our once-in-a-lifetime trip. This gift will hang on our walls for many years to come!

Jade is around almost every corner in Guatemala and Antigua in particular. We'd love to come home with a special piece as a souvenir of our trip.

Any help to get to and from Guatemala is a welcomed gift. We will be thanking you long after take off, even during our layover in Houston.

From Guatemala City, we'll jet to Flores where we'll sweat and see plenty sites -- and maybe even hold a bowl from 600 BC.

We're not renting a car on this adventure, instead relying on the expertise of shuttle services to get us from Point A to Point B.

After a flight to Flores, the hottest city on the planet, we'll hop on a tourist bus to visit the ruins of Tikal, the heart of the Mayan civilization.

We will experience the special indulgence of a couple's massage lying side-by-side, relaxing after so much activity. It's certain to be a highlight of the trip!

Taking care of the feet is critical as we'll be hiking and walking about the ruins.
