The story of us began in July 2010. While browsing an internet dating site, Rob saw Kendra's profile and decided to strike up a conversation. As fate would have it, Kendra had already seen Rob's profile but didn't have the nerve to say "Hello." After all, he was in Indiana and she was in Chicago, presenting interesting challenges for us both.

The sparks were present from the onset. IMing through the site turned to exchanging emails and personal IMs. And that led to exchanging phone numbers and before we knew it, we were talking every day... sometimes for hours.

Within a week, it was clear that we should meet face to face and see where this could go. Rob was a brave man and made the journey up to Chicago (a 4 hour trip) for a Saturday afternoon date, not knowing if the date would be a flop or a success... but he brought flowers!

The date officially started at Navy Pier, with dinner along the water. The conversation flowed (and so did the drinks). In all honesty, the company was probably better than the food! After dinner, the ferris wheel was next, despite Kendra's fear of heights. The view of the city was spectacular and the ride was memorable for so many reasons, not the least of which was the first kiss!

After the pier, we headed to the movie theater, where we saw "Inception." Not really a date movie, but interesting and thought-provoking to say the least! Holding hands throughout the movie, it was clear that this was going to be a connection worth pursuing!

Flash forward just 4 weeks later... After being apart for what seemed like years, Rob decided to pack a bag and hit the road for Chicago again, only this time for good. Kendra had cleaned out some closet space (no small task, that's for sure), and was ready to make room for him.

We quickly settled into a routine of evenings at home together, time with friends, trips back to Indiana to see Rob's daughter. And we knew early on that this was "it" for us both. Rob made it official at the end of September with a gorgeous diamond ring. Kendra said "yes" and then the planning began. But the excitement was somewhat derailed by the flu, which hit shortly after the engagement and celebratory dinner.

Now, 5 months after meeting, the wedding plans have been made, the registries have been completed, the invite list finalized. The excitement of all of that has not been lost on us, but we're both ready for the big day! We're so excited to share it with each of you!
