Some 6 years ago, a skinny, young, brown medium-length haired girl (me) was singing in the choir of Iglesia Triunfo. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a young man come in through the double doors, right center wing. ;) He was wearing a shamrock green collar shirt one or two sizes too big (so was the style), baggy shorts, white forces, and a bottle of water in hand. I had noticed him a few times already, always the same ritual. He would come in, pause in the isle, look at the stage, and then take his place in the audience. And don't forget the water bottle!
One day, I was given the oportunity to be the speaker in our youth group. And as excited as I was, I jumped on the oportunity and spoke. Unfortunately for me, this young man could not keep his mouth shut! And unfortunately for him, he didn't expect me to say anything. "You think you're reall funny don't you?" That was all that was said, and not a single word was heard from him after. Hehe.
Little did I know, that was the spark that started the journey for me. Throughout the following months we challenged each other and "flirted" per say. Mind you, we were just two kids. We had no idea what would lie ahead. We were just engulfed in a state of puppy love.
I would have never imagined that the boy with his collar popped up and baggy shorts would grow up to be a super handsome man. I would have never imagined that 6 years later, having all odds against us, he would tell me, that he loved me, and that he didn't want to share his life with anyone else but me. I would have never imagined that on a chilly Sunday afternoon, he would tell me to "at least check the pocket!" after I failed to notice all his hints. I would have never imagined to find a small blue box, and inside, a perfect demonstration of love. That man asked me to be his wife. :) And here we are now, well into the journey headed to our special day, where we can finally be one for the other, forever and ever. |
