Our relationship was built on second chances. While our first meeting wasn't ideal, we were given another chance to get to know each other. The sparks were immediate. He was the carnivore and I was the vegetarian. Yet, we knew immediately that we would never be the same. A chance meeting at the small town bar turned out to be a fated meeting of souls. I'd had a terrible date the night before. Despite that, I decided to out for the evening. Even though he rarely goes to the local bar anymore, he decided to go out anyway. As I relayed my terrible previous evening we laughed and talked, bonded over Godzilla movies, and shared an evening that was every bit the glorious date I wanted all along. Within a week we were hooked on each other. Within months we became best friends. Soon enough, we knew we were soul mates. 

One day, Justin and I were talking and he joked that we should run down to Vegas. We joked about it together several times, usually during one of those blissful moments where you can't help but say out loud what an amazing feeling you have with one another. When Justin asked me to marry him we finally spoke seriously about our plans. We went back and forth for weeks about what we would like to do. Even though we want our friends with us to share in our happiness, going to Vegas is something we've come to view as the dream we had in mind from the beginning.
