Katie and Matt met in a hot dog shop around October of 2010. Matt was managing the shop and Katie was a hungry, slightly intoxicated vegetarian. Matt crafted a delicious vegan hot dog for Katie and in return Katie wrote a hot dog related poem for Matt. The poem was hung on the wall, which eventually led to a poem competition with future customers.

It wasn't long before Katie and Matt became best friends. They flew kites, had picnics in the park, cooked vegetarian food, and had Dexter marathons. The day Katie graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Fresno State, Matt asked Katie to be his girlfriend.

On April 13, 2012 Matt proposed to Katie on a camping trip in Big Sur. Matt convinced Katie to ride in a separate car which ended up taking a much longer time to get to the beach. When she walked out, Matt was with his friends, on his knees with a gigantic sign that read, "Will you marry me?” He walked across a little river at the beach and proposed to Katie.

Matt and Katie have had a relationship full of adventure and growth. They explore the world, support each other, and make each other better people. They cannot wait to celebrate their unique quirky love on one very special day with all of the people that they love.
