 | | Because our wedding will be very small and private - essentially just us and the kids, we thought it would be nice to share some of the details of the big day from this website with our friends and family.
The wedding will be on May 23rd in Queen City, TX. It will be held in the small, original chapel of Scott's church. My "wedding coordinator" and second mom Sharon is handling my dress, the flowers, and our cake. (Chocolate of course!) Our colors are green and ivory, and finding green dresses in this town for the girls plus one very pregnant matron of honor has been an interesting challenge!
Our friend Trent Rose will officiate the ceremony, he is our Minister of Music and an all-around great guy. Even his wife Paula is getting in on the act by helping us decorate the night before!
Scott's best man is his brother-in-love Joel, and my matron of honor is my best friend and SuperTwin Stephanie. We are including a "Family Sand Ceremony" in the wedding in which we and each of the girls will pour colored sand into a glass urn signifying the inseperable bond of our family. (Cool huh?) We also have a little surprise for the girls, but you will have to wait to hear about that until aftter the ceremony!
| | After the ceremony (and lunch!), Scott and I will spend the weekend in nearby Eureka Springs. The real fun will come later in the summer when we take the entire family on a CRUISE! We wanted our real honeymoon to include our children and think this is a great way to kick off our new life as a family.
Many of our precious friends and family have been so kind as to ask what they can give us as wedding gifts for our new home. The honest truth is NOTHING! We are merging two fully stocked homes, so God has provided all the essentials and then some! However, there is a honeymoon registry linked at the top of this website, and if you feel strongly led to share a token of your love or friendship, we welcome you to do so there. (BY NO MEANS NECESSARY, HOWEVER!!) | | As a way of sharing our new committment with our extended family and friends, we are planning an I DO BBQ on the 4th of July at our new home! Everyone is welcome. Scott will be manning the grill which means there will be some AMAZING food and lots of fun - expect to see an invitation sometime in June! | | 70% of all blended family marriages end in divorce. That's a very hard number to swallow. We are doing our part by praying, reading good books on blended families, and keeping the lines of communication open with our kids. But we believe strongly in the power of prayer, and the most precious gift we could receive would be your prayers for our marriage and our children. We are excited for what God has done in our lives, and our hope is to honor him with our marriage and our family! |
