Mary Anderson & Dave Moody
Location: New Albany, IN
The wedding is on August 11, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. It will be quick and painless, we promise! Despite the tacky name, this is a very cool place. Listed on the National Register of Historic homes as the Ferry-Green House, this Victorian-Italianate was built in 1850 by Levi Ferry. Ferry was a wealthy businessman who made most of his fortune insuring the cargo that traveled up and down the Ohio. He had seven children and they lived here for nearly thirty years. Sue Green, who was a great niece to Florence Nightingale, was the next known owner. She lived there for about forty years. While living in New Albany, she followed in the footsteps of her famous relative and headed the local American Red Cross. The mansion was eventually converted to apartments and existed that way for nearly thirty years.
