It all started with an interview...little did I know I was interviewing for more than just a job! Sean and I met in Freeport, IL where we both worked in Human Resources for Honeywell. When I moved to Freeport, Sean was planning to move to Arizona within the next two months. Sean and I began spending more time together as he introduced me to Freeport's social scene. Needless to say, I was able to convince Sean to stay in the thriving metropolis of Freeport for one more year - how could he resist?. We started our family that summer when we brought Jake, our yellow lab, home. In February 2007 we began our move to Houston. Jake was enjoying being an only child in his new home, until one day in August Sean surprised us. I came home from work one average weekday and when I walked into the bedroom Sean was standing there holding a kitten. I was so confused and surprised by the kitten, and when I went to hold her I saw she had a diamond ring around her collar! Sean got down on one knee and proposed. There was no doubt in my mind, Yes! was the answer. It was perfect!
During our first casual conversations about marriage, Sean and I both agreed that destination weddings were the answer! We both love to travel and love the water, so getting married on the beach was perfect for us. When selecting where to get married, we wanted something that was convenient to travel to, yet tropical and relaxing. We found Compass Point Resort in Nassau and fell in love! We wanted to have an intimate wedding, and loved the small resort that had a private beach and bright, colorful huts that looked out over the ocean. We set the date for April 26th, 2008 and can't wait to spend time with friends and family in the Bahamas! We will get married at 5:00 p.m. on a private dock and gazebo that jet out over the ocean. We can't wait for this special day!
Our reception will take place at the Compass Point Restaurant, where we will enjoy dinner and music on the sundeck right off of the beach. We can't wait for a fun, intimate evening with our family and friends!
While we know that destination weddings are unique, we hope that you will take this chance to celebrate our wedding with us while creating vacation memories with your family. We would love to have as many friends and family with us on our special day as possible, it wouldn't be the same without you! Thank you for being part of our special day.
