Location: Primrose Garden, Wynn Las Vegas
Our story begins 3 years ago when I was determined to make it big as a rock star and she was determined to help the band get there through her production business. Well, 3 years later things have made a complete 180 degree turn. We have both moved on from the fast pace world of music and late nights and settled into the calm, settled, yet secure world of corporate employment and 9 pm bedtimes. Leave it to a woman right? LOL But seriously, the past 3 years have brought us nothing but happiness, even through the tough years when I was in school full time and she was paying the bills. We ate a lot of pasta and peanut butter in those days yet we couldn't have been happier. And that happiness has continued as both of us have reached and conquered certain goals in our lives to bring us to the here and now. And these goals would never have been realized had it not been for each other's full support. So to keep this short and sweet, (the website is running out of usable characters), we are once again at a turning point in our lives and are more than pleased to be sharing this experience with all of our loved ones. It is a celebration we take on with uncontrollable excitement, leg shaking anxiety, and of course heart pounding wake-you-up-in-the-middle-of-the-night fear. Oh the married life, we have no idea what to expect, but what we do know is that we have each other and that's really all that matters. So what does the future hold? Well now that the wedding has come and gone like a blur, we look forward to spending more time with our family and friends at the reception on July 19th which will be held at Dale and Kathy's place. Come the end of August through the middle of September we'll be embarking on our long awaited honeymoon in beautiful Greece. To look past that is too much for either of us.
Our ceremony was on Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 at 3:00 PM in the Primrose Garden at Wynn Las Vegas. The Primrose Garden is located within the Wedding Chapel area of the Wynn Las Vegas. It is a beautiful outdoor courtyard that has seating and some shade. The temperature was in the mid seventies and there was not a cloud in the sky. The wind ceased to exist that day. We really had a perfect afternoon. The ceremony blew by and before I knew it, we were giving each other our first kiss as husband and wife. After the ceremony we toured the hotel grounds with a photographer who took various shots of us in and around the casino. We drew up a crowd in some places as people looked on to congratulate us with smiles or an occasional thumbs up. After the photo shoot, we rejoined the party where we ate and drank until our hearts were content at the Wynn's Terrace Point Cafe. Afterwards, we headed over to Parasol Down where we spent a long time visiting with friends and family on the patio. It was a great time and we did not want it to end. We will look back and smile upon those moments for the rest of our lives.
A reception for our Colorado friends will be held at Dale & Kathy's home on Saturday, July 19th. We look forward to celebrating with a tropical pig roast and music late into the night. Dale and Kathy have put so much time and thought into creating the perfect reception, they have done a terrific job and I'm sure everyone will have a fantastic experience. The music along with a fabulous light set up by master electrician Brian Rhodes will be a memorable experience. It will be formal occasion, but please no tuxedos. A casual, comfortable dress will be more than acceptable. We look forward to spending this time with all our friends and family. There'll be a lot of food, good drinks, and great dancing, except of course for my two left feet. But at least everyone can get a good laugh out of it.
We leave bright and early for DIA on Friday, August 29th. After a several-hour layover in Atlanta, it's straight through to Athens. [Muscle relaxants welcome.] Upon our arrival in Athens, we will take a small plane to Naxos, the largest island in the Cyclades. We will spend three nights on Naxos at a place called Faros Studios which is located within walking distance to Aliko beach. This place is pretty incredible with white beaches and deep blue crystal clear water. It looks like the Carribean. Faros Studios is a self sufficient complex where they make their own olive oil, feta cheese, and the dinner served is what the fisherman brings in that day. Mmmm, I can't wait. Our next stop is Santorini where we plan on spending two nights (though the ferry gods may force us to adjust our schedule--no we don't have overnight reservations). Our destination will be a small town in the north called Oia (pronounced Ia). It has amazing views of the caldera that is what Santorini is famous for. It also boasts about having the best sunsets in all of Greece! Santorini will be our touristy experience, full of fine dining and lavish accommodations--a honeymooner's dream. Crete is our final island destination. Crete is large and perfect for exploration. Crete is like a whole other country, a place where people are Cretan first, and Greek second. There is so much to explore on Crete that it will be hard to pinpoint a itinerary. Spontaneity will be a must. The only thing I know for sure that we will do here is visit the Palace of Knossos located in Iraklion, the main Cretan city. From there, well more details to come is all I can say. Finally, we will head back to Athens where we will spend our final two nights. What's Europe without enough museums to make yourself sick? Antiquities and the Parthenon mark an end to this honeymoon extravaganza. We arrive back in Denver on Friday, September 12th. We'll need the weekend to recover and reflect--and upload our hundreds of pictures.
We look forward to sharing all of our stories about the wedding, the reception, and the honeymoon. For anyone who was unable to make it to Vegas or will be unable to make it to the reception, pictures and a quick summary can be requested at jason.neary@gmail.com. Unfortunately Greece is only for the two of us, so hit me up for some pictures after we return home September 12th. We will have more than enough to share. Thank you all for your support. Love Jason & Kristy
