On January 27, 2008, Emily was enjoying a day of getting painted and having fun in Las Vegas’s Green Valley Resort. Little be known to her, Billy was frantically planning the surprise of her life.
Being “just another Body Art Ball date” on a 20 city tour, Emily was very excited about having almost 25 of their closest friends fly in for the show and a weekend of gambling…so she thought. Unbeknownst to her, her mom, Dianne and stepdad, Gregg were also sneaking around Las Vegas that weekend, for one certain surprise.
The show went on just as any other show would, until finale. As each performer was called back on stage to perform the final group dance, the music stopped. Emily, in her own world as usual, was too busy waving at her friends in front row to even notice Billy in full tux, microphone in hand walking on to the stage.
One by one, each performer realized what was about to happen, well before Emily put 2 + 2 together. As Billy waved hello to Vegas and got down on one knee, it all finally made sense. As he pulled out the most precious ring of Emily’s dreams, she hit one knee with him and could do nothing but nod yes and cry. As he helped her up, he announced to her and the crowd to wave hello to her mom, who was hiding in the back and was in on this wonderful, most perfect moment…and then came the ugly cry!!
The music returned and the show went on as the newly-engaged couple went side stage to begin the celebration. But Emily was not quite done dancing…or maybe it could have been showing off; running back across the stage showing off her new status of bride-to-be, laughing and crying with her friends in the front row, dancing and hugging with her friends on stage.
After the show, the party began with drinks in the casino, party bus back to the strip, and memories made with so many wonderful people. It was a night to never forget!
Sometimes what happens in Vegas does not always stay there!!

You know us crazy kids....we would rather remember a great week of celebration than have a full place-setting of china. Thank you so much helping us make our celebration the best!
