Our Story

Amanda and Patrick met in Montreal, Quebec at club off of St. Laurent Street called "La Rouge" in August 2006. Amanda was on a "girls" gettaway to Montreal with her close friends Tania and Aarani. Before Patrick started school, he decided to take a short vacation with his buddy, Jon Burby. Unfortunately, Amanda's friend, Aarani was sick the first night of their vacation, but insisted that Amanda and Tania still paint the town red without her. They did just that and found themselves at a club. Unexpectedly, Patrick swooped in and asked Amanda and Tania if they wanted to join him for a celebratory shot in honor of his friend Jon's birthday. Of course Amanda and Tania could not refuse the offer nor the company so they did what most people would do; they raised their glasses in honor of Jon's birthday! About an hour after of getting to know each other, Patrick confessed that it was not his friend's birthday, but rather an excuse to "break the ice". Well, good on Patrick for thinking quickly on his feet because it clearly worked and the rest is history!

Patrick proposed to Amanda on her birthday: May 22nd, 2008. He was very sneaky as he decided to create a diversion by buying her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and 2 gift certificates. He wanted the gift to be expensive, but somewhat impersonal to make the "big question" extra special. He took Amanda out for a birthday dinner at a fantatic Italian restaurant in Annapolis called, "Luna Blu". After dinner, Amanda suggested that they go home to watch a Celtics playoff game, but Patrick had very different plans in mind. He suggested they go walk around the inner habor and enjoy the beautiful night. It was a busy night by the inner habor, but Patrick managed to find a quiet spot off in the distance. He led Amanda down to the end of the dock where he dropped down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. With tears of happiness in her eyes she immediately said, "YES!"

Time: Immediately following the ceremony at 6:00pm, we will have cocktails, dinner and dancing

Travel Arrangements

Airport Information:

We recommend you fly into Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI). Shuttles consistently run to and from the airport to the surrounding hotels (including the hotels we have reserved for our guests). If you decide to rent a car, many companies are available at the terminal.

For our guests from Canada, we highly recommend you fly from Buffalo International Airport to Baltimore Washington International Airport as this will drastically reduce the cost of your flight. Southwest Airlines offer inexpensive rates from BUF to BWI.

Shuttle Information:

Shuttle transportation will be provided to and from Celebrations At the Bay. This service is specifically coordinated with the above hotels and will run on a flexible schedule. Detailed information will be available upon check-in.

Please note that if our guests decide to stay at alternative accomodations other then Hilton BWI Airport Hotel and Hampton Inn BWI Hotel round trip shuttle service to Celebrations At the Bay will not be provided to them. Shuttles will only be provided for our guests staying at the Hilton BWI Airport Hotel and Hampton Inn BWI Hotel.
