On May 17, 2007, Cassandra and Jay met in the Riviera Maya at the Barcelo Resort. Cassandra was hard at work planning an event and Jay busy was soaking up the sun with his friends on vacation. One night while out at the resort's classy disco called Jaguars (named after the two jewled-eyed Jaguars sitting at the entrance to the club) Jay and a firend approached Cassandra and presented her with a rather interesting pick-up line...should he shave his goatee (referencing Jay)? And with that, it wasn't long before the couple (who happen to be great dancers...ha) were dancing up a storm.

The couple spent the next couple of days togther having a great time. But within a couple of days, the vacation was over and Cassandra went home to California while Jay went home to Texas. It wasn’t long before a long distance relationship was created and the two began traveling back and forth to California and Texas. A year of commuting back and worth soon led Cassandra to move to Texas.

Jay proposed to Cassandra on April 10, 2009 (Easter weekend) by spelling out the words "will you marry me?" in transparent crayon on 5 different Easter eggs. When they were dipped in the coloring, the words were reveiled and Cassandra was presented with a beautiful vintage inspired ring. The two celebrated that weekend in San Antonio, Texas along the renowned Riverwalk.

Today, the couple just purchased their first home together where they live with their two cats (they are really Cassandra's but Jay loves them too no matter what he says..hehe). Cassandra is a travel coordinator at an incentive travel company while Jay in a manager at FedEx. They enjoy watching movies on the couch, going out to lunch at different restaurants, and doing never-ending home projects.

The couple plans on honeymooning aboard Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas in June 2011. The trip will depart our of Barcelona, then travel to Villefranche (Nice), France; Cagliari (Sardinia), Italy; Palermo (Sicily), Italy; and back to Barcelona, Spain. It should be a trip of a lifetime!

And to think....this all began with a cheesy line about facial hair.
