Erin went through the Police Academy for KCMO in 2010 to Spring 2011. Little did she know she would be meeting the love of her life there.

"I remember the first day we met the instructors that would be mentoring us through our time at the academy. When I saw "Officer Hernandez" I was like "Whoa! That guy?! I get that hunky dude that looks like The Rock?" I honestly cannot tell you what he talked about during that first meeting with all of us.. I was just staring at him."

"I was all business. I just wanted to do a good job leading my recruits. Honestly, I didn't even notice her."

As the academy process went on Erin found whatever excuse she could to pick PO Hernandez's brain. Her respect for the way he carried himself quickly over shadowed her attraction. She sensed no reciprocation in interest and had seen him wearing a wedding ring so she settled into a mentor/mentee relationship. They spent hours talking about all sorts of things, both having interests in guns, military history, being a cop, classic cars, and tattoos.

Well Erin didn't know it but Tony had been longing for true love for years before that. Sadly, the marriage Tony was no longer a happy one and his love for his sons kept him there until he could make a new life for himself. He hoped for one that made everyone much happier and would allow him to give his boys a happy home.

So Erin went on through the academy and after needing a few swift kicks in the old enthusiasm and then thoroughly impressing Tony with her marksmanship, she graduated and became a sworn KCPD Officer.

Out into the 'hood she went trying to learn her way around the job and trying to keep in touch with academy friends. At some point after not talking with Tony for some time she texted him to let him know how she was doing and to make sure he hadn't forgotten her. Driven by destiny it seems, timing allowed for Tony and Erin to find out that they were attracted to each other and Tony asked Erin on a date! Since he'd separated and was looking to start over Erin was happy for a chance at her hunky mentor!

The rest was history. They never stopped seeing each other from that first date on. A few months later Tony joined Erin and her little dog Eva in the house that's now their home. Then a little blue heeler named Levi joined the family! So now Tony, Erin, Tyler, Nicholas, Eva and Levi all share fun weekends of love and laughter.
