We had decided pretty early on that marriage was in our future.  Brandon is a romantic soul and proposed to me in a very fun way.  We had decided to go watch The Hobbit 2 at the theater and Brandon was there waiting for me. We went inside and coincidentally ran into someone he worked with. Her name is Monique and she came with her dad.  I just thought she was there to watch the movie! Little did I know... We had been sitting there for a while when Brandon decided he wanted some nachos.  He got up and went to the snack bar, or so I thought and I carried on with busying myself before the movie started.  Next thing I knew, I heard oohs and awws coming from the audience of about 15 or so.  When I looked up, I saw a collage of pictures. Some of me and some of us and in big letters it said "Melisa Burgess, will you MARRY me?!?!?!" Of course I cried, he came in, got on one knee and proposed. I said "Of course!" He is a sneaky bugger!  Monique was only there to video tape our proposal! And that is how we started this road to our future together.  

We have been going back and forth on what we would like to do but I think we have so many options! We would like to head to a few destinations. We have tossed around the idea of a cruise, New Orleans, Disney World and a stay in Orlando, a stay in a secluded cabin or maybe even a Caribean vacation. We look forward to this fun adventure together as newlyweds.  We are having a very hard time deciding this vacation, but rest assured, we will plan something amazing and full of memories!  Actually, if anyone has any fun ideas, we are game! ;)

Brandon and I both have decent jobs, him being a nerd working on computers and me basically saving lives everyday! Point is, we have everything we need in a home but what we don't have is the fun memory of a fantastic honeymoon together. That's where friends and family come in! That is why we decided to go this route.  Seems fun and easy to use! I have owned my home for a few years, so we have everything a couple could need to start a life together. This made choosing a honeymoon registry a very easy decision. 

Our wedding is a rustic theme.  We will have a DJ with karaoke and a photo booth. We have tossed around ideas of either BBQ or a gourmet burger bar with all the fixings. I think we are leaning toward BBQ! We are looking to have a good time with our close friends and family and looking to enjoy our day at the Paradise Elks Lodge in Paradise, CA.  How many people get to say that they literally got married in Paradise.... US! Planning the day has been A mix of fun and stressful. But more fun than anything. It is only one day, we know, but it is our wedding day. And we couldn't be more excited for it!
