One honeymoon date we can't miss! A day tour of Ancient Rome! An exciting journey through history and its legends, stories and anecdotes. With our guide we will begin at the Colosseum and the Arch of Constantine, then take a leisurely stroll through the Roman Forum and the Imperial Fori to the Capitol Hill, ending up at the Pantheon, Hadrian's temple dedicated to all the pagan gods. What a great day!

After a romantic honeymoon dinner, we'll experience Rome by night! We will stroll to the unforgettable Trevi Fountain, then on to the Roman Pantheon built in 27 BC to sample the most praised ice cream in Italy. Next, we will have a nightcap at the Piazza Navona, considered the most beautiful square in Rome with its 3 Bernini fountains. We can't wait!

Okay, so this isn't a picture of gelato, but it's as close as I could find. Michelle and I each plan on gaining 15 lbs the Italian way--- at least two stops per day for gelato.

Visiting south of Florence, we will stroll along the city's political heart flanked by the Palazzo Vecchio. Next, we will visit the town hall and the Uffizi Gallery, one of Italy's leading art galleries. We'll visit the church of the Santa Croce home to frescoes by Giotto and tombs of some of Florence's greatest men: Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Galileo and Rossini and no visit would be complete without a tour of the Gallery of the Academy with the original masterpiece David by Michelangelo!

On our romantic Italian honeymoon, we'll embrace Venice's rich history on this guided walk around St. Mark's Square! Afterwards we will tour some of the city's most famous historical landmarks including the gold-dotted St. Mark's Basilica, the Gothic Ducale Palace and the breathtaking Bridge of Sighs.

On this honeymoon trip we'll visit the charming hill town of Tivoli, less than an hour from the hustle and bustle of Rome, wander around Villa Adriana, a sprawling estate that includes theatres, baths, temples, fountains, and palaces before heading to Villa d'Este, renowned for its spectacular gardens, elaborate fountains and breathtaking views over the plain towards the Eternal City.

We will tour through the fertile and picturesque Tuscan countryside towards the historic university city of Pisa. Together, we'll take the panoramic drive along the Arno embankments, visit the Piazza dei Miracoli famous for the celebrated Leaning Tower, and unequalled masterpieces of Romanesque art carried out between the 11th and 12th centuries. This will be a great honeymoon day!

Help us pay for a guy in a striped shirt to sing to us while rowing us around Venice. We promise to take lots of pictures and tell you stories when we get back.

On our walking tour we'll visit St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Sistine Chapel. The Vatican is one of the most interesting and breathtakingly beautiful sites in the world, with some very interesting stories, and our personal guide has all the scoop!

I know a company that offers walking tours in both Venice and Florence. They offer explanations on architectural styles and history, but also dish on the dark side of history, such as who ordered the beheadhing of whom.

Our hotel in Venice is the spectacular Hotel Carleton. It was built in the 1700's and overlooks the famous Grand Canal.

We will stay for 2 nights in Florence, resting our weary legs from walking to places like the Duomo, Signoria Square, and the Accademia (to see Michaelangelo's David).

We stay in the Palatino Hotel in Rome, within walking distance of the Colosseum, the Forum, and at least a hundred cafes that sell spaghetti!

It's casual, fun and perfect for an afternoon lunch. With so many restaurants in town, we'll choose the most perfect, casual restaurant where we'll take delight in the juiciest burgers, fresh sandwiches, chicken and fries!

We will have to choose from all the local Italian restaurants in town to reserve the perfect table in the most romantic setting. We will tantalize our taste buds with homemade pasta, Panini, fresh Seafood, select an Italian vino and enjoy the best dessert ever, ending with a cup of cappuccino. Now that's amore!

We look forward to reserving an intimate candlelit dinner. We'll choose a quiet restaurant with a warm atmosphere, outstanding cuisine and impeccable service.

We will visit all the trendy stores on the main street in the heart of the busy city, checking out the classically elegant European clothes in all the boutiques. We'll shop until we drop!

This is a personal lockable journal to record our most romantic memories. We will look back over this journal fondly in the years to come.

From the excellent service at the hotel to the attentive waiters at dinner, there's going to be a long list of people to thank for helping us have the perfect time away from home.

I said History twice because I like it so much.
