 | | On a sunny August day, at the top of Swan Mountain Road in Breckenridge, Charles and Amy crossed paths. With much anticipation we were awaiting the riders of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge to come through the last King of the Mountain Stage. Amy was with her friends Adam and Leslee, Charles was alone. We started visiting about the riders, the race, and the crazy party that was taking place. When we decided to go back to our car to have a bite and a beer we asked Charles to join us; he said sure. This was the beginning of an amazing journey. Charles invited Amy to stay up in Breckenridge for the free Big Head Todd concert, and would then take her back to her car in Denver that same night. After Leslee completed her version of a slight background check, Charles was cleared and Amy stayed. It was on the car ride back to Denver after the concert that we found out that we share the same birthday, share a love for Jesus, and knew we would see each other again, everything else would somehow work itself out.
Our second date was lunch on Monday, our third date on Tuesday was to Meade St Station in Denver, and it was then that we knew.
The next few months were an experience that we will not forget. We embarked on a journey that scared a lot of people, including ourselves, but knew that the love we found was true, and would somehow lead us in the right direction.
Thank you for visiting our website. We are over the moon for each other, and appreciate each of you so much. | | On Labor Day weekend, we went for our first drive up Lookout Mtn. and Charles heard the song "Marry Me," by Train, for the first time. It was during the song that Charles saw the Master Plan unfold in his mind. It was soon after that day that he met my dad and asked for his blessing to marry me.
On Saturday, November 19, I thought we were going up to Breckenridge to spend the afternoon with Leslee and Adam. I said, "Hey guys, we should drive up over Swan Mtn. Road just to see it again." They all smiled at each other and said, "OK Amy, great idea!"
We got out to walk around just as it started snowing. The next thing I knew, I saw my brother's car pulling in and said to myself, "That looks like Michael! And is that my Dad in the front seat?" It was then that I realized something more was happening here. They all piled out of the car smiling and nodding at me, as I was trying to figure out what they were doing there.
Charles got on one knee if front of my whole family and asked me to be his wife. I said YES and cried the happiest tears of my life.
| | After spending 2 of the greatest days of our lives on top of Swan Mtn. Road, it only seemed right...
We will get married at the top of Swan Mtn Road at a place called Sapphire Point, which is about a 100 yard walk from where it all began.
We are not sure how many people will be able to make it up there at noon on a Friday, but we hope to share this moment with the people that we love the most. It will be the most significant part of our relationship thus far, and we cannot wait to shout it from the mountain top that we are now MR. and MRS. Charles Clotiaux!! | | This journey together has been wonderful, yet crazy at times. Thank you for supporting us along the way. We love, value, and appreciate you so much. We would love to express in detail our gratitude for each of you individually here, but some things are better done in person... See you at the reception!!!
Thank you for visiting our wedding website and honeymoon registry.
